International entrepreneur and humanitarian founder Morad Shaker has chosen Cheyenne, Wyoming, as the U.S. headquarters for his expanding network of nonprofit organizations and global humanitarian initiatives. This decision places Wyoming at the center of his international work and marks a significant personal transition after nearly three decades in Hawaii and eight months in Asia.
Shaker's new base in Cheyenne will coordinate his U.S. and international activities. 'Hawaii will always remain an important part of my life and history. Today, Wyoming is home. We will serve Wyoming, and from Wyoming, we will serve the world,' Shaker said.
The centerpiece of his efforts is the Shaker Global Poverty Reduction Ecosystem, described as the largest and most consequential undertaking of his life. Originally slated to launch in Bangladesh in 2025 under Operation Bangladesh, the initiative faced challenges that delayed implementation. Instead of abandoning the mission, Shaker expanded its international scope, now targeting phased activity across 2026 and 2027 in an estimated 30 or more countries.
'The circumstances changed, but the mission did not,' Shaker explained. 'What was intended to begin in one country has evolved into an opportunity for many nations.' The initiative's progress can be followed through the Shaker Global Poverty Reduction Ecosystem.
The Bangladesh experience also gave rise to Operation Bangladesh - Phoenix Passage, an emerging international youth movement across more than 30 countries, focusing on opportunity, leadership, integrity, service, and responsibility. These initiatives are part of the broader Shaker Global Network, which connects U.S. nonprofits and international projects in areas like poverty reduction, humanitarian service, youth engagement, education, animal protection, integrity, and emergency response.
Shaker's commitment to Wyoming includes allocating access for 50,000 qualified residents to participate in the Global Poverty Reduction Ecosystem. 'If Wyoming is going to be our home, I want Wyoming to share meaningfully in what we build,' he said. 'I don't want Wyoming simply to be the address of our headquarters. I want its people to have a place in our future.' Participation will be subject to eligibility, verification, and implementation requirements, with further details to be announced.
