Wolfson Group Expands PhenQ Distribution as GLP-1 Use Surges Among U.S. Households

Wolfson Group, a Scotland-based international consumer wellness company, is calling attention to the diverse range of weight management options available to American consumers as prescription medication use climbs sharply. According to a June 2026 report from PwC, 21% of U.S. households included a current GLP-1 user as of May 2026, up from just 9% in January 2025. That more than doubling in roughly sixteen months signals a rapid shift in how Americans approach weight management, but Wolfson Group argues the change also creates room for clearer information about the full spectrum of products and lifestyle practices consumers encounter.

The company participates in the non-prescription category through PhenQ, its established consumer wellness brand, which is available to U.S. consumers through Amazon and, more recently, OneLavi.com. The addition of another online retail destination reflects a deliberate U.S. strategy to develop multiple distribution channels while keeping the brand accessible to consumers who prefer non-prescription options.

The significance of the announcement lies in how Wolfson Group is positioning itself within a market undergoing structural change. As GLP-1 medications become more visible in households across the country, the company is stressing that prescription treatments and non-prescription wellness products are distinct categories with different intended purposes. Wolfson Group emphasizes that products like PhenQ should not be viewed as substitutes for prescribed medical treatments, a point that matters as consumers face a crowded marketplace of nutritional products, fitness programs and lifestyle resources.

"The weight management market is evolving, and consumers have more choices than ever before," said the founder and CEO of Wolfson Group. "Prescription medications have become an important part of the conversation, but nutrition, physical activity and everyday lifestyle habits remain central to how people think about managing their weight. Our focus is on serving consumers in the non-prescription wellness market."

The company's portfolio extends beyond weight management into cognitive wellness, gut health and men's wellbeing, including brands such as TestoPrime, NooCube and YourBiology. That breadth is relevant because it reflects a broader consumer shift toward managing multiple aspects of wellbeing together rather than in isolation. Wolfson Group has previously highlighted how nutrition, physical activity, healthy ageing and everyday lifestyle choices increasingly overlap in consumers' minds.

For the U.S. market, the implications are twofold. First, expanded availability through channels like OneLavi.com gives American consumers another point of access to established non-prescription brands, potentially intensifying competition in the wellness retail space. Second, the company's emphasis on education and responsible communication suggests that as GLP-1 use grows, the non-prescription segment will need to differentiate itself clearly rather than compete on the same terms as prescription medicine. Wolfson Group said it will continue investing in consumer education, science-led brand development and expanded U.S. distribution following its participation in the September ECRM Vitamin, Weight Management & Sports Nutrition Session in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
