VOCIC has introduced the U32 Ultra Lightweight Manual Wheelchair, a foldable, self-propelled wheelchair designed to simplify everyday mobility for seniors, caregivers, and families. The chair features a 23 lb aluminum frame and a total weight of 35 lb including wheels and leg rests, making it easier to lift and transport compared to traditional manual wheelchairs.
Many families rely on wheelchairs not just for medical visits but for daily activities like moving between rooms, transferring from bed to chair, loading into a car, and navigating narrow hallways. The U32 addresses these needs with a lightweight foldable frame, quick-release rear wheels, adjustable caregiver handles, flip-up armrests, swing-in/out footrests, and a safety-focused braking system.

The U32’s lightweight aluminum frame weighs just 23 lb, with a total weight of 35 lb when fully assembled with leg rests and wheels. It folds to a compact 12.6" x 26.8" size, facilitating storage in closets or vehicles. Quick-release rear wheels allow for even greater portability, enabling the chair to fit into tighter spaces when needed. This is particularly useful for caregivers who frequently load and unload the chair.
Transfers are a critical aspect of wheelchair use, and the U32 includes flip-up armrests and swing-in/out footrests to create a clearer path for moving between surfaces. Height-adjustable armrests and adjustable footplates help tailor the chair to the user’s body. The seat measures 17.7" wide by 17" deep and includes a breathable cushion for comfort.
Caregiver handling is also a focus. The rear push handles offer four height adjustments from approximately 37" to 40.5", accommodating caregivers of different heights. A rear stepper tube assists in tilting the chair over small curbs or obstacles. The wheelchair includes user-operated hand brakes on the main wheels and caregiver-operated handle brakes, providing control for both parties.
Safety features include rear reflectors for visibility, a safety belt, an anti-tip device, and a reinforced Double-X Base frame for stability. These are designed to support safe daily use when properly adjusted and operated.
The U32’s narrow frame, with an overall width below 25.6 inches, helps it navigate standard doorways and tight indoor corridors. It is suitable for various scenarios, including home use, medical appointments, family visits, car transfers, and assisted or self-propelled movement on appropriate surfaces.
