Viromed Medical AG Advances Cold Plasma Products, Confirms Full-Year Guidance

Viromed Medical AG, a medical technology company specializing in cold plasma technology, published its half-year report for 2026, detailing advances in product development, regulatory milestones, and strategic partnerships. The company confirmed its full-year guidance, expecting a significant increase in consolidated revenue and net income. The results underscore Viromed's progress in bringing cold plasma-based medical devices to market and strengthening its scientific foundation.

During the first half of 2026, Viromed completed the conformity assessment procedure for ViroCAP® med as a Class IIa medical device under the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR). The official approval certificate was received in early July 2026, enabling the start of sales. The company also began OEM production of ViroCAP® for HELLMUT RUCK GmbH and concluded an exclusive sales partnership with NEBU-TEC for veterinary applications of PulmoPlas®. Preclinical development of PulmoPlas® continued, with study results expected to be published in a renowned scientific journal, further strengthening the scientific evidence supporting cold plasma technology.

CEO Uwe Perbandt commented, “We successfully continued developing our products in the first half of the year while also making important progress in preclinical research. The planned publication of the study results in a renowned scientific journal will further strengthen the scientific evidence supporting our cold plasma technology. This will give us greater visibility and a solid foundation for the next steps in the further development and marketing of our products.”

Financially, Viromed reported consolidated revenue of EUR 2.5 million for H1 2026, up slightly from EUR 2.4 million in H1 2025. The net loss for the period was EUR 1.1 million, compared to EUR 0.8 million in the prior-year period, attributed to expenses related to the comprehensive PulmoPlas® study and the approval and market launch of ViroCAP® med. Equity increased by 43.9% to EUR 9.5 million as of June 30, 2026, raising the equity ratio to 67.6% from 39.9% a year earlier. The company financed itself primarily through a EUR 2.7 million loan from Perbamed Invest GmbH, which was reviewed and approved by the supervisory board and tax advisor. Additionally, Viromed received a research allowance of EUR 550,000 for research and development projects in cold plasma technology.

The planned acquisition of relyon plasma GmbH remained a key focus of strategic development, although no further details were provided.
