Verizon Launches Preorders for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 With Simplicity Plan, Emphasizing Value and Simplicity

Starting today, customers can preorder Samsung's highly anticipated foldable lineup on Verizon's Simplicity Plan and My Biz Plan, the company announced. The new generation of Galaxy foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, is designed for high-performance productivity and seamless multitasking. By pairing Samsung's innovative folding technology with Simplicity, customers get fast speeds on Verizon's 5G network with zero network tiers and full device freedom.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 will be available in Lavender, Graphite, and Cream starting at $1,899.99, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra comes in Violet Shadow, Graphite, and Cream starting at $2,099.99. Also launching are the Galaxy Watch9 starting at $429.99 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 starting at $699.99. Preorders begin July 22 at Verizon stores, verizon.com, and the My Verizon app, with full retail availability on August 7.

Verizon's Simplicity Plan eliminates the complexity of multiple network tiers. New customers switching to Simplicity can get the Galaxy Z Fold8 (256GB) for just $60 a month for 48 months, including the phone at $30 a month and the plan at $30 a month, with no trade-in required. This is achieved by applying $460 in promotional credits over 48 months to the $1,899.99 retail price. To get the $30/month Simplicity rate, new customers must open a new smartphone line, sign up for Auto Pay and paper-free billing, and switch their number from another carrier.

Similarly, customers can save up to $420 on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra (256GB) by purchasing on a 48-month payment plan with a new line on Simplicity, resulting in a monthly device payment of $35 after promotional credits. For upgrades, trade-in offers provide up to $1,100 off either device when trading in an eligible phone and moving to an Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plan.

Verizon is also offering the Ultimate Bundle: customers who buy a new Samsung phone on a payment plan or bring their own Samsung phone on a new line can get a Galaxy Watch9 and a Galaxy Tab S10 FE on us. This involves purchasing the watch and tablet on a 36-month payment plan with a monthly service line, and Verizon covers the hardware costs with up to $650 in promotional credits per device over 36 months.

Bring-your-own-device customers can also get a Galaxy Watch9 on us or the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 for as low as $8 a month. Additionally, Verizon is offering up to $900 off the Samsung Galaxy Z8 series for business customers with a qualifying trade-in, and a limited-time offer of six months of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ (With Ads) for customers who purchase a qualifying Galaxy Z Fold8 or Z Fold8 Ultra.

This announcement underscores Verizon's strategy to simplify wireless plans and make premium devices more accessible. By removing plan tiers and offering substantial promotional credits, Verizon aims to attract customers seeking straightforward pricing and flexibility. The move could pressure competitors to simplify their own offerings, as consumers increasingly demand transparency and value in mobile services.
