The real estate industry is in the midst of an artificial intelligence revolution, and one company is aiming to document it from the front lines. Cyndie Shaffstall, co-founder and COO of Trust Moments, is developing her 21st book, provisionally titled 100 Leadership Perspectives on AI in Real Estate, which will feature interviews with dozens of industry leaders to create a snapshot of AI development as it transforms the real estate industry.
Trust Moments has already contacted more than 200 industry leaders, and Shaffstall and the founding team will continue leadership interviews at NAR NXT, taking place November 6–8 in New Orleans. The interviews will contribute to the upcoming ebook, which is set for publication after the conference. The project comes on the heels of Shaffstall's October ebook, Case study: How we built an AI-powered relationship and referral engine (and the things I wish I knew then), in which she examined the experiments and missteps of a small team without a traditional engineering background as they used AI to develop a real estate relationship and referral engine.
The significance of the announcement lies in its timing and scope. As AI tools proliferate across real estate workflows—from lead generation to client communication—there is a growing need for a comprehensive, industry-wide perspective on what is working, what is not, and where the technology is headed. By gathering insights from more than 200 leaders, Trust Moments aims to provide a resource that goes beyond vendor claims and marketing hype, offering a grounded view of AI's current role and future potential.
"We are so energized by the way professionals in the real estate field are innovating the use of AI around their own workflows, creating solutions that empower humans," Shaffstall said. "We are reaching out to leaders all over the industry to create a comprehensive picture of where AI is now, where people want it to develop, and how it can make our work better than ever."
Shaffstall emphasized that the project is rooted in a human-centered philosophy. "AI isn't here to replace human cognition – it's meant to empower people, and we're excited to hear how industry leaders are putting it to work." That message may resonate in a sector where concerns about automation displacing agents are never far from the surface. By focusing on empowerment rather than replacement, the book could help shape a more constructive narrative around AI adoption.
For NAR NXT attendees, the initiative offers a direct opportunity to contribute. "To industry leaders attending NAR NXT, please stop by and share your successes and experiences with AI – together we make a stronger, more tech-forward industry," Shaffstall said. The resulting ebook could serve as a benchmark for professionals seeking to understand how their peers are integrating AI, and as a guide for those still weighing where to begin.
