The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, through the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center, announced plans to dispatch five Tokyo-based companies to POWERGEN 2026, a major power generation and energy infrastructure exhibition scheduled for San Antonio, Texas. This initiative builds on the regional economic cooperation framework between Tokyo and the State of Texas, aiming to foster technology exchange and innovation in critical infrastructure sectors such as power, water, and disaster resilience.
The selected companies offer practical solutions addressing urgent challenges faced by U.S. utilities and EPC contractors. Nichibou Co., Ltd. specializes in fire protection and disaster prevention equipment, including an erase-tube fire suppression device that earned UL certification. Noatech Co., Ltd. provides advanced water treatment using its proprietary Super Namit coagulant for PFAS-compliant treatment in cooling towers and industrial wastewater. Sketch Co., Ltd. develops nano-coating technologies for energy efficiency, including heat-shielding window coatings with over 20 years of weather resistance, deployed in more than 1,000 facilities across Japan and 40 countries. System Brain Corporation offers nano-cleaning and surface protection systems for solar panels and infrastructure, with installations at the Imperial Palace. Yamaguchi Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., with its U.S. subsidiary American Katerra, LLC in San Antonio, delivers sustainable steel solutions using Green Carbon Steel™ and Blue Carbon Steel™.
The technologies showcased at the Tokyo Metropolitan SME Support Booth directly address core needs of U.S. utilities, including power resilience, fire safety, PFAS regulatory compliance, energy efficiency, and infrastructure modernization supporting distributed energy resources. This participation represents a strategic step in deepening the Tokyo–Texas economic cooperation, which has been built through business exchange and technology partnerships.
