The Storm Windows, recording artists on Paper Garden Records, have released a new live video for their song "All I Want to Do (is Rock)." The video captures a performance recorded before an enthusiastic audience at Tank Studio in Burlington, Vermont, on November 1, 2025. This release is significant because it provides fans with a visual document of the band's renowned live energy and marks another step in their growing discography.
The live recording features The Storm Windows Trio: Rob Mathews on guitar and vocals, Don Mathews on upright bass and vocals, and Erik Anderson on drums. Known as purveyors of "Power-Folk," the band has been described by Spin Magazine as the "Folk Ramones" for their high-energy performances. Top reviewer The Musical Road reports that the live music "captures the raw, immediate energy of a band fully in its element." This video offers a chance for both longtime followers and new listeners to experience that intensity firsthand.
The audio for the track was produced and mixed by Ben Collett and Julia Rangel at Tank Recording Studios, while the video was directed by Drew Fahle. The release is part of the band's recent live album on the PGRoots label, which is their first release on that imprint. The live album and the studio version of the single are both available for streaming. The band's name is derived from a John Prine song title and serves as a fitting description for veteran musicians who have weathered challenges but continue to perform. Critics have labeled their music "New Americana – a blend of folk, rock and even jazz laced sonics." With this latest video, The Storm Windows reinforce their reputation as a compelling live act and offer a taste of their distinctive sound to a wider audience.
