Suzy Chase Pivots from Cookbooks to GLP-1 Maintenance Podcast

Suzy Chase, a podcasting veteran whose shows have amassed 8 million lifetime downloads, is redirecting her focus from cookbooks to GLP-1 medications. After losing 50 pounds on a GLP-1 drug, Chase launched Dinner Party on a GLP-1, a podcast that explores what happens after the weight comes off. The show, which debuted in May 2026, was featured on Apple Podcasts' front page in August under New Seasons.

Chase's career has followed a consistent pattern: identify an underserved conversation and build audio around it. She founded The Groove Radio in 2005, the original mixtape podcast. A decade later, she launched Cookery by the Book, interviewing cookbook authors about the stories behind their recipes. In 2021, she applied the same approach to interiors with Decorating by the Book.

Now, Chase is turning her attention to a different kind of conversation. "I spent years talking about food through cookbooks and the people who write them," Chase said. "Now I'm talking about what happens when your relationship with food changes completely."

The GLP-1 conversation has largely centered on weight loss—access, side effects, and the number on the scale. But Chase found that reaching goal weight raised new questions: What happens when the scale stops being the measure of success? Where do strength and recovery fit? How does identity change after a major transformation? These questions form the foundation of Dinner Party on a GLP-1. Two years into maintenance, Chase addresses them through personal storytelling and conversations with others living on GLP-1 medications.

"Everyone wants to talk about losing the weight," Chase said. "I'm interested in what happens after. Maintenance isn't the finish line. It's an entirely new chapter."

The show has already gained traction. Podnews covered its Summer School series in July, and Yahoo Health has interviewed Chase twice. Chase's ability to spot emerging niches has been a hallmark of her career. "Podcasting has always given me the freedom to follow a conversation wherever it leads," she said. "I started with music, moved into cookbooks and interior design, and now GLP-1 maintenance. The subjects change, but the instinct is the same: find a conversation worth having and give it a place to live."

With Dinner Party on a GLP-1, Chase is betting that the next chapter of the GLP-1 story isn't about how people lose weight—it's about how they live afterward. Her pivot underscores a broader shift in the cultural conversation around weight loss drugs, moving from the mechanics of shedding pounds to the long-term realities of maintenance, identity, and health.
