SS Innovations Reports Record Q2 Revenue, Advances Robotic Surgery Expansion

SS Innovations International (NASDAQ: SSII) announced record second-quarter 2026 revenue of $13.9 million, a 39.4% increase from $10 million in the same period last year. The company's SSi Mantra surgical robotic system installations grew 30.4% to 30 during the quarter, contributing to a cumulative installed base of 224 systems across 12 countries as of June 30. Gross profit rose 20% to $7.1 million, with a gross margin of 50.9%, while net loss widened to $2.7 million, or $0.01 per diluted share, compared with a net loss of $0.3 million a year earlier.

First-half revenue increased 65.6% to $25 million, with SSi Mantra installations up 47.4% to 56. The company reported 12,272 cumulative procedures using the SSi Mantra, including 175 telesurgeries, and highlighted a recent robotic telesurgery spanning more than 13,600 miles between Colombia and India. SS Innovations ended the quarter with $13.6 million in cash and cash equivalents and no long-term debt, providing a solid foundation for its planned regulatory and commercial milestones.

The company expects the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to complete its review of the SSi Mantra's 510(k) premarket notification by the end of the first quarter of 2027, and it believes it can obtain European Union CE marking certification by the end of 2026. These regulatory approvals are critical to expanding the system's availability in major markets, potentially increasing adoption and revenue growth.

SS Innovations' focus on affordability and accessibility aligns with a broader trend in surgical robotics, where cost and training barriers have limited adoption. By offering a user-friendly and cost-effective system, the company aims to capture demand in emerging markets and underserved regions. The recent long-distance telesurgery demonstrates the system's reliability and the company's capability to support remote procedures, which could become a significant differentiator.

Investors should note that while revenue is growing strongly, the company remains unprofitable, and net losses have widened. However, the absence of long-term debt and a clear path to regulatory milestones may support long-term value creation. The company's ability to manage expenses while scaling installations will be key to achieving profitability.

As SS Innovations progresses toward FDA and CE approvals, its installed base and procedure volume are likely to continue growing, reinforcing its market position. The company's strategy of targeting global accessibility could position it well in a market projected to expand significantly over the next decade.
