SPARC Health Opens Applications for Second Cohort After Inaugural Program Success

SPARC Health, a collaborative effort between Park City Angels (PCA), BioUtah, BioHive, and the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO), today announced that applications are now open for its second cohort program. The announcement highlights the impressive achievements of the inaugural cohort and the growing momentum of Utah's healthcare innovation ecosystem.

The Startup Platform for Advice, Resources, and Community (SPARC Health) aims to accelerate healthcare startup growth through targeted programming, mentorship, and capital access. The inaugural cohort validated the accelerator's proven model: nine health tech companies completed the comprehensive program, raising over $1 million in funding, creating 14 jobs, and achieving notable milestones including competition wins and significant revenue growth.

Applications for the second cohort opened this month, with the program launching on February 5, 2026. Building on lessons learned from the inaugural cohort, SPARC Health's proven 10-module curriculum continues to address critical challenges that prevent startups from reaching their full potential: poor product-market fit, cash flow problems, and team assembly issues.

SPARC Health demonstrates the power of collaborative healthcare innovation within Utah's life sciences ecosystem. The initiative brings together Park City Angels, BioUtah, BioHive, and the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity to create a comprehensive support system for healthcare startups. The organization supports entrepreneurs building scalable businesses that improve healthcare affordability, accessibility, provider work life, and population health.
