SouthernMED Pediatrics, a leading pediatric healthcare provider in South Carolina, announced the integration of NiteOwl Pediatric Urgent Care into its network, effective November 17, 2025. The practice, now named SouthernMED Pediatrics + NiteOwl Extended Hours, is located at 616 Edgefield Road, Suite 180, North Augusta, and will continue to offer its existing after-hours services through the end of the year before expanding to full-day primary care in January 2026.
Beginning January 2026, the practice will provide primary pediatric care during daytime business hours alongside extended evening and weekend availability. This expansion allows families to access comprehensive pediatric services, including well visits, sick care, and behavioral health integration, all in one location. The new hours will be Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
“We could not be more excited about NiteOwl joining the SouthernMED family of practices,” said Dr. R. Kyle Guyton, MD, FAAP, Co-Founder of SouthernMED Pediatrics. “With a strong presence already in the Aiken area, we've witnessed the continued growth of surrounding regions and the increasing need for high-quality pediatric providers. By expanding service hours and access to care, we are setting a new standard for family-centered pediatric services in North Augusta.”
This move marks SouthernMED's entry into North Augusta, one of South Carolina's fastest-growing regions, and makes it one of only two dedicated pediatric practices in the city. The North Augusta location strengthens SouthernMED's statewide network of pediatric and adolescent medicine services, offering telemedicine, online appointment scheduling, and coordinated family communication tools. SouthernMED has begun accepting appointments for primary care and well visits at this location starting in January. For additional details, visit www.southernmedpeds.com.
The integration of NiteOwl into SouthernMED's network underscores the growing demand for accessible pediatric care in underserved areas. By combining urgent care with primary care, the practice aims to reduce emergency room visits for non-emergent issues and provide continuity of care for children in the community. This model aligns with SouthernMED's mission to deliver comprehensive, family-centered care to medically underserved communities across South Carolina.
