SouthernMED Pediatrics, a growing pediatric healthcare group in South Carolina, has acquired Tri-County Pediatrics, effective December 3, 2025. The acquisition includes offices at 165 Amendment Avenue in Rock Hill and 815 East Liberty Street in York, expanding SouthernMED's presence in the rapidly developing Tri-County region, part of the Charlotte metropolitan area.
Tri-County Pediatrics was founded in 2001 by Dr. Gaurang Shah, who has built a reputation for high-quality children's healthcare. The practice is recognized as a certified Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Dr. Shah, recipient of the 2016 Rural Health Physician of the Year Award, will continue leading patient care at both offices, ensuring continuity for families who have trusted the practice for over two decades.
With this integration, SouthernMED Pediatrics expands access across northern South Carolina, enhancing operational density alongside its existing Fort Mill office and the recently acquired Rock Hill location from Sunshine Pediatrics. Both Tri-County offices will maintain current operating hours, including Saturday morning availability at the Rock Hill location.
