Someburros Expands Arizona Footprint with Three New Restaurant Locations

Someburros, a popular fast-casual Mexican restaurant chain based in Arizona, has announced the acquisition of three new restaurant locations in Surprise, Peoria, and Maricopa, marking a significant expansion for the family-owned business. The deals, facilitated by Phoenix-based retail brokerage specialist Western Retail Advisors (WRA), will bring the chain to 20 locations across the state.

The latest announcement involves the acquisition of 1.21 acres at 42618 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway in Maricopa, Arizona. The new Someburros will be part of Stonegate, an emerging retail center anchored by Home Depot and Starbucks. The restaurant will span 3,519 square feet and include a main dining room, drive-thru, and covered patio, with offerings for online ordering and third-party delivery. Alberto Caballero and Dave Uhles of WRA represented Someburros in the transaction, while Diversified Partners represented the seller.

This is the third new restaurant site WRA has helped Someburros secure this year. The other locations include an outparcel pad within Sycamore Farms in Surprise, with a grand opening slated for the first quarter of 2026, and 1.15 acres within the Shops at Lake Pleasant in Peoria, expected to open in summer 2026. Both locations are currently under construction.

“We are a proud Arizona-based, family owned company dedicated to providing a dining experience that feels like an extension of home,” said Tim Vasquez, owner and third-generation restaurateur of Someburros. “My very first job was suiting up as our mascot, and I’ve been committed to this company ever since. That includes maintaining the quality and affordability of our nanna’s recipes, and the community spirit that defines us – while also finding ways to thoughtfully expand.”

Someburros opened its first restaurant in Tempe, Arizona, in 1986 and has since grown to 17 locations, all offering made-from-scratch, Sonoran-style dishes based on family recipes. The company’s recent growth includes a June 2025 grand opening at Roosevelt Commons in Buckeye, as well as agreements with the Arizona Cardinals and Arizona Diamondbacks to open locations within State Farm Stadium and Chase Field.

“Our site selection process for Someburros focuses not only on the real estate but also on opportunities to truly become part of the neighborhood,” said Caballero. “Every new site is chosen with these aspirations in mind, aligning with the company’s desire to help strengthen the fabric of the communities it serves.”

The expansion reflects a shift in the company’s growth pace. “In recent years, we’ve moved from opening one new location every three or so years to now opening one or two locations every year,” Vasquez added. “It is an exciting time for our family, and we are grateful for all those who have helped us succeed in this effort.”
