SFC Energy AG has raised its full-year earnings guidance for the second time in 2026 after preliminary figures for the first nine months showed operating profit already surpassing the upper end of its previous full-year target. The German hybrid energy technology company reported group sales of EUR 132.8 million for the period, up from EUR 102.7 million a year earlier, while adjusted EBITDA climbed to EUR 33.7 million from EUR 10.8 million.
The more striking figure was adjusted EBIT, which reached EUR 25.7 million, compared with EUR 5.0 million in the prior-year period and already above the previous full-year guidance ceiling of EUR 25.5 million. The company now expects adjusted EBITDA of EUR 36.0 million to EUR 38.0 million for 2026, up from a prior range of EUR 31.5 million to EUR 34.0 million, and adjusted EBIT of EUR 25.5 million to EUR 27.5 million, versus an earlier corridor of EUR 21.5 million to EUR 25.5 million. Sales guidance was left unchanged at EUR 166.0 million to EUR 175.0 million.
The announcement matters because it signals that SFC Energy's expansion into defense applications, particularly in Ukraine, is translating into disproportionate profitability rather than merely top-line growth. The company attributed the earnings surge primarily to the significant expansion of its defense business and the resulting improvement in product mix. A higher gross margin in the European business of its Clean Power Management segment, lower-than-expected logistics and handling costs for the Ukraine order, and lower expenses to date on an ERP project also contributed.
CEO Dr. Peter Podesser framed the results as evidence of the scalability of the company's business model. "Dynamic growth and an increasingly higher-margin product mix are driving a disproportionate increase in our operating earnings power," he said, adding that modern warfare generates fast-growing demand for electrical energy in the field and that SFC's fuel cell solutions enable longer mission durations, reduced logistics effort and enhanced safety for users.
The company's shares trade on the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the ticker F3C:DE, and the group, headquartered in Brunnthal near Munich, employs around 500 people with subsidiaries across Europe and North America. More information is available at www.sfc.com.
Investors will be watching the fourth quarter closely. Following the timely delivery of the first Ukraine programme at the end of the third quarter, management expects the product mix in the final three months to be shaped more by civilian products, resulting in a relatively lower earnings contribution than in the two preceding quarters. Higher ERP expenses and additional investment in Ukraine business development are also planned, measures the company says are intended to strengthen its operating platform for continued sustainable growth.
SFC Energy will publish its full quarterly release for the period ended 30 September 2026 on 11 November 2026. The preliminary figures and revised guidance were announced via www.newmediawire.com.
