Satyadhar Joshi, a researcher and educator focused on making artificial intelligence accessible to a broad audience, has been named the winner of a Bronze Stevie Award in the Social Impact Leader of the Year category at the 23rd Annual International Business Awards (IBAs). The award, announced on August 13, 2026, recognizes Joshi's efforts to bring AI research and educational resources to policymakers, educators, workforce-development professionals, and other stakeholders outside traditional academic or governmental silos.
The International Business Awards, often hailed as the world's premier business awards program, drew more than 3,400 nominations this year from organizations in 82 nations and territories. Entries spanned categories such as Company of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Startup of the Year, and Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year. Winners were determined by over 200 business professionals worldwide who served on specialized judging committees, with scores averaged from independent evaluations.
Joshi's nomination highlighted his engagement with government and academic institutions, as well as his publicly available educational materials. These include free online courses and two open-access books covering artificial intelligence, financial risk management, and workforce development. The books are distributed through more than 10 digital platforms, including Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and OverDrive, ensuring wide reach.
“This recognition reinforces my belief that research should not remain behind paywalls or be limited to academic or government silos,” Joshi said. “My goal is to continue developing cross-agency, cross-domain collaboration and practical, freely accessible frameworks and training materials, including online courses, open-access books, and video content, that help governments, educators, organizations, and communities navigate the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence responsibly and inclusively.”
The Bronze Stevie Award follows other honors Joshi received in 2025 and 2026. In November 2025, he received a Silver Globee Award for Impact for work related to AI integration in education and workforce policy. In April 2026, he was named a TITAN Business Award winner in the Training category for a video-based workforce training initiative supported by research and educational content.
Stevie Awards judges evaluated Joshi's nomination based on the scope and impact of his work, particularly its accessibility to audiences beyond traditional academic settings. They noted the public-facing nature of his research and its potential value to policymakers, educators, and government institutions.
“The 2026 International Business Awards winners represent the very best in business achievement from organizations of all sizes and across virtually every industry,” said Stevie Awards President Maggie Miller. “This year's winners have demonstrated exceptional innovation, leadership, resilience, and results in a highly competitive global field.” Winners will be celebrated at a gala event at the Pullman Paris Montparnasse on October 28.
