Rubean AG Projects Strong Revenue Growth and Path to Profitability by 2027

Rubean AG, the Munich-based FinTech company specializing in software-only point-of-sale solutions, is projecting robust revenue growth and a clear path to profitability, executives announced at the annual shareholders’ meeting on Wednesday. Co-CEO Jochen Pielage stated that consolidated revenue for 2026 is expected to rise to between 5.0 million and 6.0 million euros, up from 3.71 million euros in the previous year. In the first half of the year, revenue grew by approximately 50 percent to 2.4 million euros, underscoring the company’s accelerated momentum.

The growth is being fueled by a sharp increase in recurring revenue from Rubean’s SoftPOS software, which allows merchants to accept card payments directly on smartphones without additional hardware. Pielage emphasized that half of the 2026 annual revenue will come from recurring sources, a significant jump from prior years. “This is particularly profitable revenue, and its expansion is key to our financial transformation,” he said. The company’s software, which replaces traditional card readers, is already a market leader in Germany and Spain and is gaining traction in other European markets, including Switzerland, France, and the United Kingdom, as well as in North and South America.

Rubean now partners with 19 major banks, including the German Sparkassen, BBVA in Spain, and Commerzbank, along with internationally active payment service providers. Pielage noted that the groundwork has been laid for expanding sales operations, particularly with the appointment of Stephan Kuck to the Executive Board. The company’s solutions are used by retailers, restaurants, delivery services, and other businesses to accept cashless and mobile payments.

Looking ahead to 2027, Pielage forecasted that continued growth in recurring revenue will enable Rubean to reach monthly breakeven and close the year with positive net income for the first time. This milestone would mark a turning point for the company, which has invested heavily in expanding its market presence.
