Rooftop Relief, a roofing contractor in Cincinnati, OH, has taken its commitment to veterans a step further by donating a complete seamless gutter system to Jerry Townsley, a local veteran with a distinguished service record. The donation came after Townsley requested a standard veteran discount for storm damage repairs to his barn's gutters. Instead, co-founders Jerry Vineyard and Ryan Collins chose to replace the entire system at no cost.
Townsley's service spans over two decades. He served four years on active duty in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal (CVA-59) and then 20 years in the U.S. Air Force at Rickenbacker Air Force Base. In addition, he dedicated 39 years to civil service, a lifetime of contributions that inspired the company's generosity.
“When Mr. Townsley called us asking for a veteran discount after severe storm damage tore up his barn's gutters, Ryan and I looked at his decades of service in the Navy, Air Force, and civil service and knew right away—a discount wasn't enough. Replacing his gutters completely free of charge was the least we could do to show our gratitude,” said Jerry Vineyard.
This project is part of Rooftop Relief's annual Veteran Roof & Exterior Relief program, which began with roof donations and has now expanded to include gutters. As an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, the company is known for storm damage inspections, roof replacements, and seamless gutter installations. Co-founder Ryan Collins noted, “Our annual Veteran program started with roofs, but stories like Jerry Townsley's remind us that home protection involves the complete exterior. Whether it's a storm-damaged roof or seamless gutters on a barn, we want to ensure our local veterans have safe, durable structures protecting their property.”
The company is now encouraging residents in Loveland and Greater Cincinnati to nominate deserving veterans for future free projects. Nominations can be submitted through the company's website.
Rooftop Relief, based in Loveland, Ohio, has built a reputation for honest craftsmanship and community service. The donation to Townsley underscores the company's dedication to honoring those who have served, a mission that resonates deeply with its founders and the community it serves.
