Riivah Fragrances, an independent fragrance house based in Redwood City, California, has launched its first two super premium parfums, 'Blue Salt' and 'Molten Light,' each priced at $375 for a 50 ml / 1.7 fl. oz. bottle. The debut signals the company's ambition to compete with established luxury brands while maintaining a distinct identity rooted in personal heritage and artisanal craftsmanship.
The fragrances were developed in collaboration with Romanian parfumer Anesia Dican, a resident at the Maison Galimard, and are hand-crafted to evoke grace, presence, and quiet confidence. Blue Salt is a coastal composition that opens with bergamot, grapefruit, and clean accord, transitioning into marine accord, black tea, and white flowers, with a base of white musk, cedarwood, light leather, and amber. Molten Light takes a warmer direction, opening with juicy citrus pineapple and unfolding into mango, red fruits, iris, green tea, and kiwi, settling into musk, sweet gourmand, sandalwood, and amber.
Each fragrance is presented in a clean black box inlaid with Riivah's peacock-inspired logo. The bottle is a weighted obsidian-black glass vessel whose label draws from a "roaring twenties" meets South Asian aesthetic. The design maintains an understated tone intended to draw wearers in through restraint rather than spectacle.
Cofounder Dhatri Pandya said of the launch, "Our goal with Riivah was to build fragrances that could stand up against any luxury brand in the world while staying rooted in personal authenticity." Annapareddy added, "Both of these scents tell a story about our deep familial connection to scent, our heritage, and our personal stories."
Both fragrances are available exclusively through the brand's website. To make the line more accessible, Riivah offers discovery sets featuring 2 x 2 ml bottles for $30 each, allowing consumers to sample the scents before committing to a full bottle. Holiday gift sets are expected to be available in the online store shortly. Those interested in exploring the collection can learn more about Riivah Fragrances at riivahfragrances.com.
The launch matters because it represents a new entrant in the ultra-premium fragrance segment, where few independent brands dare to price their products alongside heritage houses. By offering discovery sets at a fraction of the full bottle price, Riivah lowers the barrier to entry for curious consumers, potentially disrupting the traditional luxury sampling model. The company's emphasis on personal storytelling and cultural fusion—blending French perfumery with South Asian inspiration—also reflects a broader trend of niche brands challenging the dominance of legacy conglomerates.
Founded in 2025 by Dhatri Pandya and Shiv Annapareddy, Riivah derives its name from the Sanskrit word "rivah," meaning "one that moves" or "one that flows." With plans to expand the line over the coming year, the brand is positioning itself as a lasting player in the artisanal fragrance space.
