Record 54 Highlights JASDFW Annual Golf Tournament, Strengthening North Texas-Japan Business Ties

The Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth (JASDFW) held its annual golf tournament, bringing together business and community leaders for a day of competition and networking. The event, which took place under favorable weather conditions, featured a record-setting performance and underscored the organization's role in fostering ties between North Texas and Japan.

A team sponsored by the Frisco Economic Development Corporation—comprising Thai Thong, Jeremy Carroll, Chad Berens and Neil Nesladek—finished with a score of 54, or 18 under par, the lowest in tournament history. The B12 Consulting team took second place with a 57, while The Original Pancake House DFW and Toyota Team 2 tied for third at 10 under par. Individual honors went to Neil Nesladek for Closest to the Pin and Craig Fryer for Longest Drive.

The Hole-in-One Contest on Hole #17 gave golfers a chance to win a Toyota Tundra, though no one succeeded this year. The contest recalled the tournament two years ago when an SMBC participant made a hole-in-one and claimed the vehicle, adding to the event's appeal.

Beyond the competition, the tournament served as a platform for JASDFW members, partners and supporters to strengthen relationships in support of the organization's mission to deepen connections between North Texas and Japan. Sponsors included Title Sponsor Toyota, Tournament Lunch Sponsor Frisco Economic Development Corporation, and numerous other companies and economic development groups.

The event's success highlights the importance of corporate and community engagement in sustaining JASDFW's programs, which include business, cultural and educational initiatives. As North Texas continues to attract Japanese investment and cultural exchange, such gatherings play a vital role in building lasting partnerships. For images from the tournament, Click for Images.
