PridesDate, an LGBTQ+ online dating platform, has announced a significant expansion of its language support, adding seven new languages to its interface. Danish, Finnish, Indonesian, Korean, Dutch, Norwegian, and Swedish will soon be available, bringing the total to 16 languages. This move underscores the platform's commitment to making communication accessible for its diverse user base.
According to the company, the new languages were chosen based on user demand, ensuring that the platform's experience remains consistent across all supported languages. The expansion is the largest single addition to the platform's linguistic offering to date, reflecting a strategic effort to cater to a global audience.
The platform already supports English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Turkish, and Chinese. With the upcoming additions, users who prefer these languages will be able to navigate the entire platform—including profiles, settings, notifications, and communications—in their native tongue, eliminating the need to switch between languages.
PridesDate's communication infrastructure is built around real-time translation, allowing members to converse seamlessly even if they do not share a common language. Profile descriptions and messages are translated instantly, with each translation clearly marked and the original text available for reference. Users can also provide feedback on translation quality, ensuring continuous improvement.
In addition to interface localization, the platform offers customer support in over 60 languages through a third-party system. This includes real-time text translation, live call transcription, and AI voice support with customizable regional accents, ensuring that help is always accessible.
The product team at PridesDate emphasized that language should never be a barrier to meaningful connections. "Barrier-free communication is a goal we have built our entire language infrastructure around," they stated. "Adding seven new languages to the interface is a meaningful step in that direction."
