PNE AG Lowers 2026 Guidance as Project Delays Shift Earnings to 2027

PNE AG announced on October 13, 2026, that it is adjusting its financial guidance for the 2026 fiscal year, lowering its EBITDA forecast to between EUR 60 million and EUR 75 million and its normalised EBITDA forecast to between EUR 65 million and EUR 80 million. The revision stems from the anticipated postponement of certain projects into the following year, as transaction processes are taking longer than originally expected and some permitting procedures have been delayed. These delayed projects are now expected to be realised in 2027. Additionally, the company has decided to retain certain operational wind farms that had originally been intended for sale within its own generation portfolio.

The guidance adjustment matters because it signals that even companies with robust operational momentum can face earnings volatility due to timing issues. For investors, it means that 2026 financial results will not fully capture the underlying strength of PNE’s business, potentially affecting short-term valuation and dividend expectations. However, the company emphasised that its operational business continues to perform very successfully in 2026, with significant achievements in project sales and permitting. To date, the PNE Group has sold eleven projects with a combined nominal capacity of approximately 361 MW in its core markets of Germany, Poland and France. It has also received permits for ten wind energy projects in Germany with a combined capacity of approximately 374 MW, three international wind farms with approximately 290 MW, and 13 photovoltaic power plants with approximately 335 MWp. These milestones demonstrate the quality of PNE’s project pipeline and lay the foundation for future growth.

“Despite the strong operational performance achieved so far in 2026, the timing effects resulting from project postponements will not be fully reflected in our earnings,” said Heiko Wuttke, CEO of PNE AG. “Nevertheless, the project sales completed and the permits obtained underline the high quality of our project pipeline and the strength of our business model.” Wuttke added that PNE continues to expect one of the best results of recent years, and he remains optimistic about long-term demand drivers: “There is no alternative to renewable energy. Electrification, digitalisation, rising energy demand from data centres, climate protection targets and government expansion plans will continue to drive demand over the long term. Despite the currently challenging market environment, the structural growth drivers remain intact. We are well positioned to benefit from this development.”

The implications extend beyond PNE. The delays reflect broader challenges in the renewable energy sector, including lengthy permitting processes and complex transaction negotiations. Yet the company’s ability to secure permits and complete sales highlights the resilience of its business model. As a Clean Energy Solutions Provider listed in the SDAX, PNE AG remains a key player in onshore and offshore wind, photovoltaic projects, and battery storage. The decision to retain operational wind farms may also signal a strategic shift toward owning more generation assets, which could provide stable long-term revenue but reduce short-term cash from sales. Investors and industry observers will watch whether the postponed projects are realised in 2027 and whether PNE can maintain its operational momentum amid market uncertainties.
