PickleJar Entertainment Group, Inc. (OTC Pink: PKLE) has announced it is providing marketing technology and fan engagement capabilities for the feature film Sunflower Child, a romantic comedy starring Gavin Casalegno and Jennifer James. The film, which is currently in post-production, represents a strategic expansion of PickleJar's content ecosystem beyond its core live entertainment technology platform.
Sunflower Child features Casalegno, best known for his role as Jeremiah Fisher in Amazon's The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Jennifer James, who also wrote the screenplay. The film marks the directorial debut of award-winning cinematographer Jamie Touche and is produced by Joseph Goldman for Double J Productions, in association with Nebel Productions and in collaboration with PickleJar Entertainment Group. Principal photography took place in the U.K., including at Twickenham Studios and on location throughout London.
MSR Media International is handling worldwide sales and introduced the film to international buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin in February 2026. The team will continue building distribution momentum at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival in May 2026, where they will engage with global distributors and territory buyers. This international push underscores the film's market potential and PickleJar's role in supporting original content with broad appeal.
PickleJar's engagement with Sunflower Child involves activating its integrated platform—including FanVivo, PickleJar Up All Night, and PickleJar Plus—to extend the film's audience reach across radio, digital, and venue channels. This collaboration reflects the company's commitment to diversifying its revenue streams and content touchpoints, as noted by President and Co-Founder Kristian Barowsky: 'Film is a natural extension of our entertainment ecosystem. With Sunflower Child, we’re working alongside exceptional creative talent and positioning PickleJar in connection with a project of strong international market appeal.'
The film's story follows a young screenwriter who unexpectedly falls for an aspiring director, confronting betrayal and the cost of success. Jennifer James described the project as 'an anthem for authenticity, for indie filmmakers, and what it really takes to get a foot in the door.' Director Jamie Touche added that the film 'has love at its core—both a love for the work itself and for the people around us.'
PickleJar's involvement in Sunflower Child is consistent with its broader support of independent filmmakers, including its sponsorship of the Nashville Film Festival in 2024 and the development of PickleJar Flix in 2025. The company made a £25,000 investment in the production, reviewed and approved by independent directors on arm's-length terms. This investment and platform engagement represent a strategic step for PickleJar as it builds a diversified entertainment company with multiple revenue streams.
Additional details regarding the integrated marketing and fan-activation campaign will be announced in the coming weeks, coinciding with the film's continued international distribution push.
