VANCOUVER, BC - Opawica Explorations Inc. (TSXV: OPW) (FSE: A2PEAD) (OTCQB: OPWEF) has announced a comprehensive exploration update for its 100%-owned Arrowhead Gold Property, located in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt of Quebec. The company has secured drill permits covering 25 drill-pad locations and outlined a strategy for approximately 10,000 metres of high-priority drilling, marking a significant next phase for the property.
Arrowhead is situated in an established mining district, immediately adjacent to properties held by Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, including the producing LaRonde Complex, which has produced over eight million ounces of gold since 1988. While mineralization on adjacent properties is not necessarily indicative of Arrowhead's potential, the location provides a compelling geological setting.
The property has a rich history of exploration spanning nearly a century, with early work including prospecting, trenching, pitting, underground workings, and diamond drilling. Historical gold values of approximately 45.05 g/t Au were reported, and chip sampling returned up to 90.75 g/t Au over 1.0 metre. These historical results have not been independently verified by Opawica's Qualified Person.
What sets Arrowhead apart is the extensive modern geological dataset compiled by Opawica. In 2022, the company completed its inaugural diamond-drill program, consisting of 4,306 metres across 14 holes. The program confirmed gold mineralization along a one-kilometre strike length, with 11 holes intersecting gold zones grading greater than 1.0 g/t Au. Notable results included 18.7 g/t Au over 0.35 metres with 0.72% Cu in hole AR-22-01 and 1.52 g/t Au over 14.8 metres in AR-22-04. The drilling identified gold in shear zones with quartz-carbonate-tourmaline veins and mineralized felsic tuffs.
Following the 2022 campaign, nine target zones remained untested. The upcoming 10,000-metre program is designed to systematically test high-priority targets generated from comprehensive geological, geophysical, and seismic surveys, as well as 3D modelling and AI-assisted targeting. The program will focus on testing continuity, extensions, and potential depth of known mineralization.
The planned drilling is a critical step in assessing Arrowhead's full potential. The property's combination of historical high-grade occurrences, modern drill-confirmed mineralization, and extensive untested targets positions it for a major exploration phase. Opawica believes the property is not an early-stage concept but a drill-ready project with the potential to add significant value.
Yvan Bussieres, P.Eng., an independent Qualified Person under NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical information in this release. The company cautions that forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties, and actual results may differ.
