Oncotelic Therapeutics (OTCQB: OTLC) today announced that its joint venture partner, GMP Bio, has received an independent valuation from Frost & Sullivan (Hong Kong) estimating the potential value of GMP Bio's therapeutic pipeline at approximately $1.7 billion. This non-binding, forward-looking analysis implies about $765 million for Oncotelic's 45% minority interest in the joint venture. However, the valuation does not represent fair value under U.S. GAAP, and Oncotelic has initiated a separate valuation that will comply with Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) standards to support future financial reporting. Depending on the outcome, the company may record a higher carrying value for its minority interest in upcoming periods, consistent with applicable fair-value measurement standards.
The valuation underscores the progress of GMP Bio's pipeline, which includes the OT-101 program and the Deciparticle™ platform. OT-101 is advancing into Phase 3 trials for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and Phase 2 combination trials. Additionally, GMP Bio is expanding its nanomedicine pipeline and operates a GMP-licensed facility in San Diego. Dr. Vuong Trieu, CEO of Oncotelic, stated that the valuation affirms the advancements across these programs and the joint venture's strategic initiatives. GMP Bio is also preparing for a potential Hong Kong IPO in late 2026, subject to market and regulatory conditions.
