Nordex Group's Q3 2026 Order Intake Jumps 29.5% to 2.8 GW, Signaling Global Diversification

Nordex Group reported a 29.5 percent year-over-year increase in order intake for the third quarter of 2026, reaching 2,810 megawatts in its Projects segment. The Hamburg-based wind turbine manufacturer booked 427 turbines across 10 countries between July and September, with Türkiye, Germany, and the United States leading demand. For the first nine months of 2026, order intake totaled 7,733 MW, up 16.1 percent from 6,661 MW in the same period of 2025.

The average sales price per megawatt remained relatively stable at EUR 0.90 million in the third quarter, compared to EUR 0.93 million a year earlier. Over the nine-month period, the average price was EUR 0.93 million per MW, slightly above the EUR 0.92 million recorded in the first three quarters of 2025. The company attributed the pricing development to project scope and regional mix effects, indicating that underlying pricing has not deteriorated despite a competitive market.

CEO José Luis Blanco emphasized the geographic diversification of Nordex's order book. "Our order intake is becoming more globally diversified, and the third quarter confirms this. Türkiye led with more than 900 MW, and in the US we have now booked more than 1.3 GW year to date. We expect the international share to keep growing as we convert our pipeline in the coming quarters, while order momentum in Europe and Germany remains strong," Blanco said.

The results underscore the resilience of demand for onshore wind turbines, particularly in markets with limited space and constrained grid capacity—a niche Nordex targets with its 4 to 7 MW+ class turbines. The company has commissioned over 64 GW of wind capacity in more than 40 markets since 1985 and generated consolidated sales of approximately EUR 7.6 billion in 2025. With more than 11,100 employees and manufacturing facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, the US, and Türkiye, Nordex is positioned to capitalize on the global energy transition.

The strong order intake matters because it signals that utilities and developers are continuing to invest in renewable energy despite macroeconomic uncertainties and supply chain pressures. For Nordex, a steadily growing backlog provides revenue visibility and supports its manufacturing utilization. The geographic mix—with Türkiye and the US contributing significantly—also reduces reliance on any single market, which is crucial for long-term stability. Moreover, stable pricing suggests that the industry may be moving past the aggressive price competition that has squeezed margins in recent years.

Investors and industry analysts will be watching whether Nordex can maintain this momentum through the remainder of 2026. The company's ability to convert its pipeline into firm orders, particularly in the US where it has already booked over 1.3 GW year-to-date, will be key. Additionally, the continuing strength in Europe, especially Germany, indicates that policy support for wind energy is translating into tangible projects. As the world accelerates efforts to decarbonize, Nordex's performance offers a bellwether for the broader wind sector.
