New York CityPASS Adds Edge and Whitney, Cuts Price in Flexible Revamp

City Pass, Inc. announced on September 10, 2026, a significant overhaul of its New York CityPASS program, introducing a fully flexible ticket format, two new attractions, and a price reduction. The changes mark one of the most substantial updates to the nearly 30-year-old product and signal a strategic response to evolving traveler expectations for customization and value in urban sightseeing.

Under the new structure, visitors can choose any five attractions from a curated list of 10 premier New York experiences. The lineup now includes Edge Observation Deck & Immersive Experience and the Whitney Museum of American Art. These join the Empire State Building Observation Deck, American Museum of Natural History, Top of the Rock Observation Deck, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Statue of Liberty Grounds and Ellis Island Official Ferry, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises, Intrepid Museum, and Guggenheim Museum.

The shift to a fully flexible format removes previous constraints that required travelers to select from predetermined categories or packages. This matters because it allows visitors to tailor their itinerary to personal interests, whether they prioritize observation decks, museums, or cultural landmarks. It also increases the likelihood that travelers will use all five admissions, maximizing the value of the pass.

Price reductions further enhance the appeal. Adult tickets drop from $164 to $149, while child tickets decrease from $136 to $129. Advertised savings now reach as much as 51% compared to combined regular admission prices. For a family of four, for example, the new pricing could save more than $60 while still providing access to five major attractions. The combination of lower price and greater choice is likely to intensify competition among bundled attraction passes in New York City, a market with numerous options for visitors.

Megan Allen, president and CEO of City Pass, Inc., said, "These updates give travelers more control over how they experience New York. By moving to a fully flexible format, adding new attractions and lowering the ticket price, New York CityPASS tickets offer even greater value and make it easier than ever for visitors to build the New York experience that's right for them, whether they're drawn to breathtaking views, world-class art, iconic landmarks or cultural institutions."

The addition of Edge Observation Deck & Immersive Experience brings one of the city's most dramatic attractions to the program. Located at Hudson Yards, Edge is the highest indoor and outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, suspended more than 1,100 feet above Manhattan. Visitors can step onto the glass floor, lean out over the city from angled glass walls, relax in the Skyline Seats, and enjoy sweeping 360-degree views. A major indoor transformation has turned Edge into a fully immersive, multi-sensory attraction with installations such as NYC's largest kaleidoscope, the Pulse infinity room with 450 glowing orbs, 260 spinning mirrors in the Reflections light show, and a canopy of giant colorful crystals in the Crystal Cave. Edge also features reimagined hospitality and food offerings by Tao Group Hospitality.

The Whitney Museum of American Art offers a different but equally compelling draw. Located in Manhattan's Meatpacking District, the museum is renowned for its collection of 20th- and 21st-century American art, including works by Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Andy Warhol. Highlights include Hopper's Early Sunday Morning, O'Keeffe's Summer Days, and Warhol's Green Coca-Cola Bottles. The Whitney also presents cutting-edge exhibitions by contemporary artists and features expansive outdoor terraces overlooking the Hudson River and the High Line.

New York CityPASS tickets remain valid for nine consecutive days from first use, allowing travelers to explore at their own pace. Digital tickets are emailed and linked to the My CityPASS app, which provides access to tickets, reservation management, attraction details, directions, and entry instructions. The app also offers notifications, special offers, and trip-planning information.
