New Horizon Medical Solutions (NHMS), a company specializing in advanced wound care technologies, has announced a strategic collaboration with Soring, the U.S. affiliate of Söring (Germany), to distribute Söring's Ultrasonic-Assisted Wound (UAW) debridement system. The partnership aims to expand access to ultrasonic debridement technology for treating chronic and acute wounds across various medical settings.
The Söring UAW system includes an ultrasonic generator and instrument designed for debridement and wound cleansing. It is intended to remove fibrin tissues such as necroses, fibrin, scab, and pus, and to break up biofilms. According to the announcement, the device improves wound status and promotes healing in conditions like diabetic foot syndrome, decubitus ulcers, burns, post-surgical wounds, and post-traumatic wounds.
Dr. Jeffrey Alan Niezgoda, Chief Medical Officer of Kent Imaging and board member of NHMS, highlighted the synergistic benefits of combining the UAW device with NHMS's diagnostic tools. "The use of SONOCA 185 and the UAW instruments for Ultrasonic Wound Debridement guided by SnapshotGLO and monitored by SnapshotNIR can significantly improve wound management and lead to better patient outcomes," Niezgoda stated. "These devices synergistically optimize wound bed preparation prior to CAMPs application."
Will Hall, CEO of NHMS, emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration. "This collaboration reflects our belief that the future of wound care lies in combining advanced technology with evidence-based clinical solutions," Hall said. "By bringing Söring's ultrasonic system into our portfolio, we're expanding access to innovative tools that address critical gaps in treatment while improving efficiency and outcomes across care settings."
NHMS is known for its portfolio of biologically derived human placental allograft products, including amniotic membranes, placental tissues, and skin grafts for chronic wounds, surgical reconstruction, burns, and orthopedic procedures. The addition of the UAW device complements these offerings by providing a debridement solution that prepares wounds for subsequent treatments.
Söring, founded in 1985 and headquartered in Germany, specializes in ultrasonic tissue resection and ablation. The company's technologies are used globally by healthcare professionals, with a focus on intuitive user experience and efficient surgical procedures.
The collaboration underscores a trend toward integrating advanced debridement technologies with regenerative medicine products to enhance wound care protocols. By offering the UAW system alongside its allograft products, NHMS aims to provide clinicians with a comprehensive toolkit for managing complex wounds.
