Children's author Sara Newman has released a new picture book, My Mommy Is a Vampire, that transforms a classic monster into a loving mother. The book, aimed at children ages 4–8, combines playful imagination with a message about unconditional love and acceptance.
The story follows a young child who sometimes wishes for a "normal" mom. Unlike other mothers, the vampire mommy avoids sunlight and mirrors and faces unique daytime challenges. However, when her child becomes sick at school, she does everything possible—including an unforgettable trip through the school entrance—to rescue her child, proving that a parent's love knows no limits.
Newman said the book reminds children that "the people who love us most may not always look or act like everyone else, but their love is what truly matters." The book uses gentle humor and emotional storytelling to teach empathy, acceptance, and the enduring bond between parent and child.
My Mommy Is a Vampire is now available through major online booksellers and selected retail outlets. It is ideal for bedtime stories, classrooms, libraries, and Halloween reading collections.
