Theresia Whitfield, a seasoned freelance writer and two-time Emmy nominee, has announced the release of her new book, "After Cancer: Now What? A Biblical Guide to Navigating Life After Cancer." The book addresses the often-overlooked period following cancer treatment, when survivors face a complex mix of emotions and uncertainties about how to move forward.
"You've heard the diagnosis. You've endured the appointments, scans, treatments, and surgery. Now it's over. So… now what?" Whitfield writes. The book offers biblical insights and practical advice for those wrestling with fear, loss, or uncertainty after cancer. It explores what God's Word says about post-treatment emotions and provides a pathway toward lasting healing.
Whitfield brings over 25 years of writing experience to the project, having contributed to more than two dozen national and international publications. Her work has earned two Emmy nominations and two Best Consumer Report awards from the RTNDA and Associated Press. After transitioning from broadcast to print journalism, she covered both the auto racing industry and faith-based topics.
The author's personal experience with cancer shapes the book's message. "Cancer gave her a second chance to live life in a more meaningful and abundant way," according to the announcement. She hopes readers will see the faithfulness of God in her own story and in the stories of other cancer survivors.
Published by Lucid Books, an independent hybrid publisher based in the Houston area, the book has already received glowing reviews from readers across the United States. Lucid Books offers "the connections and expertise of a traditional publisher with the author involvement of a self-publisher," according to its website at lucidbooks.com.
"After Cancer: Now What?" serves as a reminder that survivors can find hope, peace, and purpose on the other side of survival.
