MRH Switzerland AG Shows Resilience Amid Swiss Hotel Market Decline

MRH Switzerland AG, the hotel division of AEVIS VICTORIA SA, has reported continued growth in the first half of 2026, despite a slight decline in the Swiss hotel market. The company's revenue increased by 1.0% to CHF 104.9 million, with high operating profitability maintained. The average room rate rose by 2.8% to CHF 651, and revenue per available room (RevPAR) increased by 3.2% to CHF 354, demonstrating the portfolio's resilience and qualitative performance.

The Swiss hotel market faced headwinds during the period. According to provisional data from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), overnight stays decreased by 0.3% between January and May 2026, and June estimates show a 2.2% decline, including a 4.6% drop in foreign demand. As a result, the market is expected to post a decline of approximately 0.7% for the first half of 2026. Despite this, MRH achieved growth, with accommodation revenue rising to CHF 61.5 million and food and beverage revenue increasing to CHF 38.0 million.

The company's occupancy rate remained virtually stable at 54.3%, indicating that the RevPAR improvement was driven by higher average rates rather than increased occupancy. This reflects MRH's ability to create value through strategic property positioning, pricing discipline, and quality offerings. The EBITDAR margin, a key performance indicator for the AEVIS Group's integrated real estate structure, is expected to remain largely stable at a historically high level of 26.1% from the previous year, supported by improved food and beverage margins and effective cost control.

MRH is now focusing on the second half of the fiscal year with confidence, while monitoring international demand, geopolitical volatility, and economic conditions. The company has completed a major investment cycle in its properties and continues its strategy of revenue quality and operational improvement, leveraging synergies with Michel Reybier Hospitality. With a portfolio of eleven hotels in premium destinations across Switzerland and London, MRH manages 1,180 rooms and employs over 1,150 staff members.
