Moxie Award Honors 2025 Winners, Celebrating Boldness in DC Area Business

The Moxie Award celebrated its ninth annual ceremony on Thursday night at The Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, honoring 17 businesses and organizations from the Washington, D.C., area for their bold initiatives and strategic market moves. More than 400 business leaders attended the event, which recognized winners across categories including cybersecurity, healthcare, and government contracting.

“Since the Moxie Award began nine years ago, we have reviewed nearly 1,500 award entries and discovered so many of the DC area’s most impressive companies,” said Moxie Award Co-Chair Sarah Cody. “This year has identified another set of companies leading their industries, with our 2025 winners showing some of the strongest moxie we’ve seen yet.”

The winners were selected from nearly 130 finalists by a panel of third-party judges. Criteria included resilience, innovation, growth, industry leadership, community service, and local achievements. Among the winners were FlexProfessionals, LLC (Business & Professional Services), Preferred Capitol Cleaning, LLC (Construction & Real Estate), and Revolution Cooking, LLC (Consumer Services).

In the cybersecurity category, Avint, LLC took the award, while University Startups won in Education. Financial Services winner Ecphora Capital was recognized for its bold market moves. Government contracting winners spanned multiple size categories, from Krilla Kaleiwahea (K2) (under 50 employees) to The MIL Corporation (300+ employees).
