Monkee's of Fair Oaks Ranch will hold its grand opening at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, marking the debut of a locally owned women's contemporary boutique in the Lemon Creek Ranch development. Owner Kelli Hull, who spent a year transforming a concrete shell into a fully stocked store, aims to answer a long-standing frustration among local shoppers: the lack of nearby access to contemporary designer clothing without a 45-minute drive into San Antonio.
Opening day festivities begin with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and confetti pop at 9:30 a.m., followed by doors opening to the public at 10 a.m. Shoppers can explore the roughly 1,200-square-foot boutique, which features a curated mix of national designer brands and emerging labels. The first 100 purchases on opening day will receive a special gift. Throughout the grand opening weekend (Thursday through Saturday), guests can enjoy champagne, light bites, and giveaways from local partners including Heights Wellness, Golden Salon, Rooted Strength Fitness, and Glossy Nail Bar.
Hull assembled the boutique's inventory on buying trips to New York City showrooms. The store carries Paige denim, described as a "cult classic," and FRAME, alongside dresses and elevated pieces from brands like Milly, Shoshanna, and Marie Oliver. Younger shoppers have responded enthusiastically to Aviator Nation, a Malibu, California-based sweat-and-swimwear label. The August 20 opening aligns with the back-to-school season, and Hull is already planning for 2027, with new brands including Tecovas, Hunter Bell, AGL, and New Braunfels-based Sunshine Tienda set to arrive in January.
Hull emphasized the boutique's focus on service and experience. "People are a little bit frustrated with a lack of customer service, not only in retail but in industries at large," she said. "We want every single person who comes in to feel a very elevated, experiential shopping experience." The boutique offers personal styling, private after-hours events, and Sunday appointments for busy customers. Hull also made a promise: "It is my solemn vow that I'll never let anyone leave Monkee's of Fair Oaks Ranch in something that doesn't look phenomenal on them."
Monkee's of Fair Oaks Ranch is one of the few veteran-owned and operated Monkee's franchises in the country. Hull noted, "Supporting the military community is something you'll continue to see us do for years to come." The boutique is located in the Lemon Creek Ranch development near Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne, a growing corridor with direct access off I-10. Hull chose the location for its convenience and long-term potential. "You can drive right up to the store, park and walk in," she said. "Lemon Creek Ranch is great where it's at now, but it's only going to continue to get better."
Several trunk shows are planned for the grand opening weekend, offering exclusive access to expanded collections. More details and schedules will be announced. For more information, visit monkeesoffairoaks.com or follow @monkeesoffairoaks on Instagram.
