MelGeek Launches Centauri60 and Centauri80 Hall Effect Gaming Keyboards with OLED Touchscreen and Magnetic Precision

MelGeek has announced the release of its Centauri60 and Centauri80 Hall Effect Gaming Keyboards, set to launch on November 25, 2025. Priced at $299 for the 60 percent layout and $359 for the 80 percent version, the Centauri Series represents a fusion of aesthetic design, magnetic switch performance, and high-definition display technology. The company is offering early-bird discounts: 10 percent off from November 25 to December 2, and 15 percent off from December 3 to December 9.

Since its founding in 2014, MelGeek has focused on emotional engagement and creative expression. The Centauri Series embodies this philosophy with an almost 2-inch OLED touchscreen that boasts 325 PPI and a 60Hz refresh rate. Driven by a separate processing unit to prevent impact on typing performance, the display features a layered menu system, swipe navigation, custom wallpaper, dynamic animations, and real-time configuration displays. This screen functions like a small smart device, enhancing personalization and daily interaction.

The keyboard is powered by MelGeek's third-generation magnetic switch platform, developed with a distributed architecture of one master controller and five slave chips. This design improves signal processing, reduces response time, and ensures consistency in fast-paced gaming or typing. A new anti-interference magnetic shield patent resolves neighboring key interference issues, lowering the risk of intermittent connection failure. The fourth-generation Hall sensor provides stability with signal jitter in the 2mV range, significantly less than competitors.

The series features three-sided ambient lighting with over 16 million colors. Each zone is independently controlled via the redesigned Hive driver, offering reactive effects, custom layers, and numerous lighting profiles. The Super Dock rotary encoder provides tactile control over media, macros, and workflows. Acoustically, the five-layer design with a gasket mount offers consistent sound and reduced vibrations, using TTC magnetic switches with a surrounded POM stem for maximum performance.

MelGeek also addresses practical needs with a water ingress alert patent that detects liquid on the main circuit board, triggering a warning light to minimize potential damage. The Centauri Series integrates with MelGeek's Hive ecosystem, allowing users to customize lighting, macros, keymaps, and display functions, catering to both working professionals and gamers.

MelGeek's founder stated, "By merging art and performance, we strive to provide an aesthetically stimulating and ergonomic experience for maximum enjoyment in use amongst professional gaming users worldwide." The Centauri60 and Centauri80 are the result of community feedback and open-source design, blurring the lines between personal taste and engineering. For more information, visit MelGeek's website.
