As flooding once again devastates the Texas Hill Country, LiftFund has launched the 2026 Texas Hill Country Flood Relief Program to provide critical funding to small businesses and nonprofit organizations. The program offers grants of up to $10,000 to eligible applicants in 16 affected counties, including Bandera, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, and Uvalde. Businesses must have been operating on or before July 1, 2025, and demonstrate negative economic impact from the July 2026 floods.
The grants can be used for rebuilding and repair expenses, replacement of lost or damaged equipment, and general business operating expenses. This initiative comes as many small businesses were still recovering from last year's floods, compounding their financial challenges. LiftFund President and CEO Amy Hereford emphasized the urgency: "Our hearts are with the Texas small businesses that are facing yet another tragic disaster. When disasters strike, they need trusted partners who can respond in a matter of days to sustain the business and its employees."
Over the past year, LiftFund has deployed 525 grants and loans totaling more than $17 million in funding for Hill Country businesses. For over three decades, the organization has supported entrepreneurs through hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and the COVID-19 pandemic, developing disaster recovery systems that prioritize speed, accountability, and equitable access to capital. Hereford noted, "Every small business that reopens strengthens its community. When entrepreneurs can recover, employees return to work, families regain stability, and local economies begin moving forward again."
LiftFund is collaborating with philanthropic organizations, corporate partners, and community leaders to expand recovery resources. Additional funding will help increase access to affordable financing, grants, and business support services.
