Leonhardt Ventures LLC has announced the E-Stent™, a wireless bioelectric protein-expression stent designed to activate or inhibit specific regenerative proteins directly from vessel walls and surrounding tissues. Developed by the company's R&D team in Irvine, California, the platform combines an implant with a wearable harness that delivers controlled bioelectric signals to micro-coils embedded along the stent. Stent sizes range from micro-implants smaller than a pea to 28 mm aortic stents, enabling applications across multiple organ systems.
“This is no longer a theory or a dream; we have working prototypes in testing now which are controlling regenerative and healing protein expressions on demand, enabled fully by wireless energy,” stated Brian Lasater, CTO of Leonhardt Ventures LLC and Lionheart Health, Inc.
Leonhardt Ventures has granted exclusive licenses for the E-Stent™ platform to a range of entities for specialized applications. These include KidneyCell™ for kidney regeneration (www.kidney-cell.com), CerebraCell™ for brain health and stroke recovery (www.cerebracell.com), and AddictiStim™ for addiction treatment (www.addictistim.com). Other licensed applications include MemoryStim™ for Alzheimer's treatment, DepressiStim™ for depression and anxiety, BioLeonhardt™ for heart regeneration, CancerCell™ for cancer treatment, Ear-Cell™ for hearing regeneration, and Eye-Cell™ for vision regeneration.
Additional licenses cover Lionheart Health for healthspan longevity and medical aesthetics (www.lionhearthealthstim.com), Vascustim™ for limb salvage and wound healing, AortaCell™ for aortic aneurysm treatment, SpineStim™ for spinal cord injury recovery, BioPace™ for biological pacemaker regeneration, PressureStim™ for blood pressure control, and InStim™ for inflammation modulation. Other applications include LiverCell™, BladderCell™, BreatheStim™, ImplantStim™, Second Brain™, Stem Cell Bra™, SkinStim™, ErectiStim™, FemStim™, TestiStim™, TremorStim™, PancreaCell™ for diabetes treatment, OrthoStim™ for orthopedic applications, and DentaCell™ for dental applications.
The E-Stent™ platform works by selectively controlling bioelectric signaling to stimulate or inhibit a broad range of proteins, including klotho, sestrins, sirtuins, apelin, LIM, CXCL5, tropoelastin, COL17A1, SDF1, PDGF, NANOG, RANK-L, BMP9, OPG, VEGF, S100a, HIF1a, BDNF, Sonic Hedgehog, TGFb, and FABp4 downregulation. These stimulations can direct stem cell homing, proliferation, and differentiation on demand, improving circulation, restoring muscle strength, modulating inflammation and blood pressure, improving nerve connections, restoring elasticity, and more.
This platform represents an evolution of Leonhardt Ventures' previously announced KlothoImplant Bioelectric MicroImplant, expanding the same core capabilities into advanced vascular implant formats. The Lionheart Health team was recently recognized by Medtech Outlook Magazine as Micro Implant Stimulator Development of the Year 2025 (www.medicaltechoutlook.com/lionheart-health-inc). Additionally, Lionheart Health was recognized as Abbvie Allergan ULP Innovation of the Year in Medical Aesthetics and as a top 40 semi-finalist in the $101 Million Xprize Healthspan competition out of 600 entries. Other recent distinctions include being a 2025 finalist in both OCBJ Innovator of the Year and Octane Life Sciences Technology Co of the Year awards.
