The Law Offices of R.F. Wittmeyer, Ltd. has announced that attorney Larry A. Appelbaum has joined the firm, bringing more than 37 years of legal experience. Appelbaum will focus on catastrophic personal injury, construction litigation, professional negligence, automobile accidents, premises liability, and wrongful death cases.
Before joining the firm, Appelbaum served as a trial attorney with the Lake County Public Defender's Office and later as staff counsel for major insurance companies. His background provides a well-rounded perspective in advocating for plaintiffs. He earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois. Appelbaum has also published articles on tort law and construction negligence and is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the Lake County Bar Association.
Outside the courtroom, Appelbaum is known for organizing community pickleball tournaments through the Vernon Hills Park District to raise funds for the Family Scholarship Fund. He received the Vernon Hills Park District Community Service Award in 2024 for his efforts.
