LAURION Mineral Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: LME | OTC: LMEFF | FSE: 5YD) has released assay results from two drill holes, LBX26-111 and LBX26-112, completed as part of its 2026 Phase 1 diamond drilling program at the 100%-owned Ishkoday Gold and Polymetallic Project in Northwestern Ontario. The results are significant because they demonstrate continuity of mineralization within the A-Zone–McLeod system, which the company is systematically advancing toward a potential maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE). For investors and the mining sector, these intercepts underscore the project's potential to host a large, gold-rich polymetallic system.
Drill hole LBX26-111 targeted the down-dip extension of the A-Zone, returning 3.35 meters grading 0.523 g/t gold, including a higher-grade sub-interval of 0.60 meters at 2.480 g/t gold, 4.20 g/t silver, 0.04% copper and 0.45% zinc. Additional intervals included 0.50 meters at 1.255 g/t gold and 1.29% zinc, and 1.55 meters at 0.494 g/t gold, 6.87 g/t silver, 0.14% copper and 0.24% zinc. These results confirm the projected continuation of A-Zone mineralization at depth. The full assay summary is available through the Click Here to see LBX26-111 Assay Summary.
Drill hole LBX26-112 tested the McLeod mineralized horizon, filling a gap between previous drilling from 2022. It intersected 1.20 meters grading 6.580 g/t gold, and a broader 6.00-meter interval grading 0.206 g/t gold, 19.80 g/t silver, 0.28% copper and 0.83% zinc, which included a high-grade 0.50-meter sub-interval of 1.795 g/t gold, 223.00 g/t silver, 3.31% copper and 8.47% zinc. A separate 2.10-meter interval returned 175 g/t silver. These results are important because they help evaluate geological continuity and the shape, orientation and distribution of mineralization within the McLeod Zone. In response to these and earlier results, LAURION expanded its planned Phase 1 drilling from 3,865 metres to 5,605 metres across 22 drill holes. This expansion follows an independent structural gap analysis by SRK Consulting, which identified five priority target areas to address gaps in the existing drill database. The increased program is designed to tighten the geological model and support the evaluation of a potential maiden MRE. The implications are substantial: successful delineation of a maiden resource could de-risk the project and attract further investment, while the polymetallic nature (gold, silver, copper, zinc) may enhance economic robustness.
LAURION is a mid-stage Canadian mineral exploration company focused on advancing the Ishkoday project, which covers approximately 57 square kilometers and hosts a 6.0 km by 2.5 km mineralized corridor. With over 98,000 metres of historical and modern drilling, the company emphasizes disciplined, data-driven exploration. As LAURION continues to evaluate opportunities, including potential non-dilutive initiatives, these assay results mark another step toward building technical clarity and long-term project value.
