LaFleur Minerals Appoints New CEO as Trafigura Due Diligence Advances

LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) (FSE: 3WK0) has announced the appointment of Andrew Elinesky as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, and provided updates on the ongoing due diligence with Trafigura Canada Limited regarding proposed prepayment and gold doré offtake arrangements. This leadership change and the advancement of due diligence are significant as the company seeks to strengthen its financial position and operational capabilities in the competitive gold mining sector.

Andrew Elinesky brings over two decades of senior executive and financial leadership experience to LaFleur Minerals. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of Sabre Gold Mines Corp., which was acquired in February 2025. His background is expected to be instrumental in overseeing corporate strategy, capital markets, financing, and investor relations. Meanwhile, former CEO Paul Ténière will continue as President and a Director, focusing on technical and operational activities. This division of roles aims to enhance both financial and operational efficiency as LaFleur advances its projects.

In conjunction with the leadership transition, LaFleur reported that representatives from Trafigura and company management completed a two-day site visit to the Beacon Gold Mill and Swanson Gold Project on August 10-11. The visit included an inspection of the mill and process circuits, a review of recommissioning progress, and an inspection of the ongoing diamond drilling program at the Swanson Deposit. These activities are part of the due diligence process for the proposed prepayment and gold doré offtake arrangements. The company noted that while due diligence is progressing, there is no assurance that definitive agreements will be reached or that they will be on the terms currently contemplated.

The advancement of due diligence is a critical step for LaFleur Minerals as it seeks to secure financing for the restart of the Beacon Gold Mill and the development of the Swanson Gold Project. The Beacon Gold Mill has a capacity of over 750 tonnes per day and is being evaluated for processing mineralized material from Swanson and for custom milling operations for other nearby gold projects. The Swanson Gold Project, located in the Abitibi Gold Belt near Val-d'Or, Québec, includes 481 claims and 1 mining lease covering 200.7 km², with several gold and critical metals prospects.

LaFleur recently released a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Swanson Gold Project and the planned restart of the Beacon Gold Mill. The PEA is preliminary and includes inferred mineral resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have economic considerations applied to them for categorization as mineral reserves. There is no certainty that the results of the PEA will be realized.

This news is important as it signals LaFleur's proactive approach to securing financial backing from a major global commodity trader like Trafigura, which could provide the necessary capital to advance its projects. The appointment of a seasoned CEO like Andrew Elinesky also brings confidence to investors, given his track record in the mining industry. As due diligence progresses, the potential offtake and prepayment arrangements could significantly de-risk the company's development plans and provide a clear pathway to production.
