Inter COO Ray Chalub Discusses Borderless Finance and Creator Economy Integration

Inter (NASDAQ: INTR) is redefining the financial super app by merging banking, payments, rewards, shopping, and social networking into a single ecosystem, according to Chief Operating Officer Ray Chalub. In a recent interview with CityBiz, Chalub detailed how the company, which serves over 40 million customers globally, is leveraging its Brazilian roots to drive U.S. expansion and innovation.

Chalub emphasized that Inter’s unique approach lies in focusing on user experiences rather than mere transactions. “Most financial institutions focus on transactions, while we focus on experiences,” he said. The platform allows users to send money abroad, pay bills, invest, and discover content seamlessly, reflecting how people live and connect across borders.

Inter’s growth strategy centers on building a borderless financial ecosystem that unifies services fragmented by geography. “As a Brazilian-born company, we saw how economic volatility was a part of daily life. Yet, we’ve also seen how that environment teaches resilience and forces innovation,” Chalub noted. He highlighted that the company’s experience in challenging markets fuels its global expansion, particularly in the U.S., where success validates its model.

Key to Inter’s expansion is its payment innovation, focusing on instant, affordable, and seamless transactions. Chalub outlined three principles: localization that scales, simplicity and speed, and trust through safety and compliance. He also pointed to Inter’s website for more information on its offerings.

Forum, Inter’s creator-driven social platform, is a central pillar of its strategy. With over 15 million registered users, Forum integrates content, community, and commerce, allowing users to bank, shop, and engage with creators. Chalub explained that Inter is redirecting up to $10 million over the next few years to reward creators through its Loop Points system, where engagement earns redeemable rewards. “The global creator economy, now worth over $250 billion, proves that people trust creators more than ads,” he said.

Creators play a vital role in Inter’s U.S. expansion by building trust and localizing products like the Inter Passport Credit Card. Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, Chalub envisions Inter evolving into a hub for living, transacting, discovering, and growing. “Expect to see us continue expanding our U.S. offerings, simplifying cross-border financial experiences, and scaling Forum into one of the most vibrant creator ecosystems across the Americas,” he concluded.
