HR.com's HR Research Institute has announced the formation of its State of Financial Wellness Advisory Board for 2027, assembling a panel of HR, benefits, and financial experts to steer research on employee financial literacy and well-being. The board's work will focus on understanding employees' financial challenges, evaluating the effectiveness of workplace financial wellness programs, identifying best practices, and exploring the benefits of financial literacy initiatives, including the use of tools, metrics, and emerging technologies such as AI to improve financial well-being.
The advisory board comprises nine distinguished professionals: Heather Coleman of Enriched Academy, Dan Comisar of BrightDime, Shatrina Cosby of Purchasing Power, Kim Duffy-Wylam of Baker Tilly, Damond Fauconier of Transportation Federal Credit Union, Marite Marlow of the Center for Employment Training, Lilah Raynor of Logica Research, Cassandra Rose of Fringe, and Rahkim Sabree, a financial wellness consultant, speaker, and author. Their collective expertise is expected to ensure the research is practical and relevant for HR leaders.
Financial stress can significantly affect employees' overall well-being and their ability to thrive at work, said Debbie McGrath, CEO of HR.com. She noted that the research will help HR leaders better understand employees' needs and identify practical, effective ways to build financial wellness strategies that make a meaningful difference. The findings and insights will be presented at a follow-up virtual event in the new year, offered free to the HR community. Those interested can register for the State of Financial Wellness 2027 Virtual Event March 10, 2027.
The initiative builds on the HR Research Institute's annual State of the Industry reports, including the most recent HR.com's State of Employee Financial Wellness 2026. These reports are made available to HR professionals at no cost and are widely used to inform strategic decisions. The new advisory board will help ensure that the 2027 research addresses current and emerging challenges, such as the integration of AI and data-driven tools in financial wellness programs.
For HR leaders, the announcement signals a renewed emphasis on evidence-based approaches to financial wellness, which is increasingly recognized as a critical component of overall employee well-being and organizational performance. The research and event aim to equip HR professionals with actionable insights to strengthen financial wellness initiatives and better support employees' financial health.
