Hong Kong is making a major push onto the global stage with its largest-ever presence at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, running from January 6 to 9. The Hong Kong Tech Pavilion, spearheaded by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will feature 61 tech companies showcasing advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, healthtech, and sustainability. Among them are three CES Innovation Award winners, underscoring the region's growing technological prowess and its ability to scale innovations for international markets.
The pavilion, spread across the Eureka Park and Global Pavilion at The Venetian Expo, includes a dynamic mix of early-stage and mature companies. Notable highlights include Widemount Dynamics Tech, which received the Best of Innovation award for its Smart Firefighting Robot, designed to detect fires, navigate smoke-filled environments, and provide real-time mapping to minimize risks to life and property. PointFit, honored under the Digital Health category, presents the PF-Sweat Patch, an ultra-thin wearable that continuously monitors vitals and performance through patented biomarker tracking technology, offering a non-invasive alternative for athletes and wellness enthusiasts. Eieling Technology, also recognized in Digital Health, introduces FattaLab, the world's first compact fatty liver diagnostic device that delivers medical-grade results in just 30 seconds, promoting early intervention and preventive care.
The event will also feature product launches and business-matching opportunities. For instance, Dentomi will introduce GumAI, a smart oral healthcare solution; DRESIO will demonstrate its AI-powered physiotherapy platform; and moftBODY will launch wuBiee and wuBiee wrap, integrating neuroscience into smart textiles for everyday shapewear. A full line-up of activities is available here, and attendees can schedule visits through the online schedule.
On January 7, a Hong Kong Tech Networking Reception will be held at Mercato Della Pescheria, The Venetian, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, welcoming potential partners and investors to explore business opportunities with Hong Kong tech companies. Registration for the reception is open here.
The participation of 61 companies—47 from HKSTP's ecosystem—highlights Hong Kong's role as a burgeoning innovation hub. HKSTP, established in 2001, has nurtured 12 unicorns and over 2,600 tech companies from 25 countries. The HKTDC, a statutory body promoting Hong Kong's trade, organizes international exhibitions to create business opportunities for SMEs. This year's CES presence signals Hong Kong's readiness to scale its technology ventures globally, leveraging its robust R&D infrastructure and strategic location bridging mainland China and international markets.
The implications of this announcement are significant. It positions Hong Kong as a serious contender in global tech, capable of producing award-winning innovations with real-world impact. The focus on healthtech, AI, and sustainability aligns with global trends, and the presence of both early-stage and mature companies indicates a healthy pipeline for growth. For investors and partners, the Pavilion offers a concentrated view of Hong Kong's tech potential, potentially leading to increased cross-border collaborations and investments.
