The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) has reported a robust performance for the financial year 2025-2026, hosting a total of 786 events, including 128 exhibitions, 81 international and local conferences, and hundreds of corporate meetings, banquets, and entertainment events. The venue attracted over 7.7 million attendees, underscoring its pivotal role in driving Hong Kong's economy and reinforcing the city's status as an international convention and exhibition hub.
Central to this year's success was the debut of 25 new exhibitions and conferences, several of which were held in Hong Kong or Asia for the first time. These inaugural events not only showcased the HKCEC's capability to host world-class gatherings but also demonstrated Hong Kong's appeal as a gateway between Mainland China and the global market. Ms Monica Lee-Müller, Managing Director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (HML), highlighted the strategic focus on four key sectors—Medical, Innovation and Technology, Finance, and Education—that led to these landmark debuts. "We are thrilled that these inaugural events were met with resounding success and have already confirmed their return to the HKCEC next year," she stated, emphasizing the venue's role as a "Super Connector" and "Super Value-Adder" for Hong Kong's economy.
Among the standout debuts was the inaugural Hong Kong Comic Con 2026, which achieved unprecedented success and generated substantial economic value. Organizers have already confirmed its return in 2027. In the medical sector, the 9th World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery drew over 3,000 global participants, while the 15th China Chest Pain Centers Congress marked the first time a national medical association convention was held in Hong Kong. These events underscore Hong Kong's growing reputation as a health and medical innovation hub, providing a two-way platform for showcasing national healthcare standards and supporting Mainland enterprises in their global expansion.
Asia's flagship events have also reaffirmed their commitment to Hong Kong. Art Basel Hong Kong, a fixture at the HKCEC since 2013, has signed an agreement with the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau to remain the city's sole Asian venue for the next four years. Similarly, Vinexpo Asia, one of the region's premier wine and spirits trade events, will end its rotation with Singapore and make Hong Kong its permanent home starting in 2027. These long-term commitments reflect the confidence global organizers have in Hong Kong's infrastructure and strategic location.
Looking ahead, HML continues to attract high-profile events. Recent additions include the inaugural LEAP East in July, the Global Unicorn Summit in August, and the World Cancer Congress 2026 in September. In December, the city's premier art toy exhibition, Amazing Toy Show Hong Kong 2026, will debut at the HKCEC. These events are expected to further enrich Hong Kong's vibrant events landscape and cement its status as a leading convention and exhibition hub.

The HKCEC's achievements this year not only highlight its operational excellence but also its critical contribution to Hong Kong's economy. By attracting international events and facilitating business opportunities, the venue plays a vital role in maintaining Hong Kong's competitive edge in the global meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry. As HML continues to secure prestigious events, the HKCEC remains a cornerstone of Hong Kong's long-term economic growth and international exchange.
