Heliostar Metals Strengthens Financial Position with Record Production and Cash Balance

Heliostar Metals Ltd (TSXV: HSTR) reported second-quarter results that improved its forward outlook by bolstering the operating cash-flow bridge to its flagship Ana Paula project and clarifying the earnings capacity of its producing assets. The company achieved record gold production of 14,803 ounces, a 26% increase quarter-over-quarter, contributing to revenue of $56.5 million and mine operating earnings of $31.1 million. Cash balances rose to $43.0 million despite a $10 million initial payment for the Goldstrike acquisition.

The improved operational performance was driven by San Agustin reaching steady-state production and continued low-cost output from La Colorada. These assets have strengthened the operating base that supports Heliostar's development pipeline. The sequential decline in net income was attributed to the annual option grant, higher taxes, and foreign exchange effects, rather than weaker mine performance.

Ana Paula remains the principal step-change growth project, with a Feasibility Study targeted for the second quarter of 2027 and an underground permit submission expected in the third quarter. First gold from Ana Paula is targeted before the end of 2028. The project's Expansion Zone offers potential upside beyond the current development case, though permitting and project financing remain key execution variables.

The Goldstrike acquisition added 1.065 million ounces of attributable gold resources plus emerging antimony optionality. Surface work has confirmed mineralization at Antimony Ridge and identified a new target, Antimony Knoll, located 1.7 kilometers to the west. An initial drilling program of approximately 1,500 meters is underway, with results expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. Goldstrike broadens Heliostar's longer-term pipeline, although the remaining staged purchase consideration should be reflected consistently in valuation.

Key markers for investors include reserve conversion, execution at the Veta Madre vein, and Ana Paula permitting. Near-mine reserve growth should improve visibility beyond 2026, while the Expansion Zone provides additional upside. The company's ability to generate cash from its producing assets is critical to funding development activities and reducing reliance on external financing.
