HeartMath Leads 'Restoring Balance with the Heart' at WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine

HeartMath, a leader in heart rate variability biofeedback and emotional regulation, participated in the Second World Health Organization (WHO) Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, held December 17–19, 2025, in New Delhi, India. The summit, convened by the WHO and the Government of India, gathered over 800 leaders from more than 100 countries. HeartMath was one of 25 evidence-based innovations invited to present an experiential lab within the Traditional Medicine Discovery Experience.

In partnership with The Fyera Foundation/Heart Ambassadors, which holds Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), HeartMath curated and led an immersive lab titled "Restoring Balance with the Heart: Science Illuminates the Heart's Role in Balancing Our Bodies, Emotions, and World." The lab introduced delegates to peer-reviewed research on heart-brain interactions, heart rate variability, and emotional self-regulation, supported by real-time biofeedback. Over 300 delegates participated, sparking dialogue on the role of heart-based regulation in public health, resilience, and policy development.

HeartMath's inclusion in the summit was facilitated through sustained engagement with the UN and WHO by The Fyera Foundation. Their donations and programs enabled key WHO leaders to experience HeartMath's work directly. Sheva Carr and Robert Browning, HeartMath's Co-Directors of Healthcare, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to integrate HeartMath's research and technology into the summit, stating, "Being able to integrate HeartMath's research & technology in the WHO's immersive discovery experience for delegates from around the world was an honor. It provided an opportunity to both care for the hearts of these dedicated and influential global leaders, as well as share the hope of the life-changing benefits that are possible when activating heart coherence in the populations they serve."

HeartMath's research was also formally included in the launch of the WHO Traditional Medicine Global Library, the world's largest digital repository of Traditional Medicine evidence. Key elements from the summit exhibition will remain on permanent display at the WHO Traditional Medicine Headquarters in Jamnagar, India. This inclusion underscores HeartMath's contribution to the evolving global dialogue on integrating evidence-based emotional regulation into public health.

The implications of this announcement are significant. HeartMath's participation at the highest levels of global health policy suggests a growing recognition of the importance of emotional regulation and heart coherence in addressing stress and building resilience at a population level. For over 30 years, HeartMath has pioneered heart coherence research and HRV biofeedback technology, validated by over 400 independent studies with 20,000 citations. Its tools are used by organizations like Stanford Medicine, Kaiser Permanente, and NASA. The WHO summit exposure could accelerate the adoption of heart-based techniques in public health strategies worldwide, potentially influencing policy and implementation in areas such as mental health, chronic disease prevention, and community resilience.

HeartMath's vision, as articulated by Carr and Browning, is for heart coherence to become an integrated aspect of public health policy. The summit provided a platform to share this vision with global leaders, offering a practical, science-backed approach to well-being that transcends cultural boundaries. As the WHO continues to expand its traditional medicine and integrative health initiatives, HeartMath's evidence-based methods may play a key role in shaping future health policies. This partnership exemplifies how innovative, heart-focused technologies can contribute to planetary wellbeing, bridging ancient wisdom with modern science.
