Green Choice Proteins Prepares U.S. Launch as Plant-Based Nutrition Moves Beyond Meat Alternatives

Green Choice Proteins, an Australian plant-based nutrition company, is preparing to enter the United States with a product line that reflects a broader shift in how consumers approach plant-based eating. Rather than focusing solely on meat or dairy alternatives, the company is positioning its plant proteins as convenient, everyday nutrition products for a wide range of consumers. The move matters because it signals that the plant-based category is maturing beyond niche vegan and vegetarian diets into mainstream health and wellness routines.

According to the company, plant-based nutrition is no longer defined only by consumers who follow strict vegan or vegetarian diets. Interest in incorporating more plant-derived ingredients into daily meals has expanded to include protein content, ingredient transparency, flavor and convenience. Green Choice Proteins says its Australian-made products are designed for consumers seeking practical ways to add plant-based nutrition to their routines without an all-or-nothing approach.

"Plant-based nutrition doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing lifestyle choice," said Puneet Chawla, Founder of Green Choice Proteins. "We believe consumers should have access to high-quality plant protein products that fit naturally into their everyday lives, whether they're focused on fitness, general wellness or simply making more thoughtful food choices."

The company's initial U.S. lineup includes three plant-based protein powders. The Chocolate Flavored Protein Powder delivers 35.3 grams of plant protein per serving, uses Australian-grown pea and faba proteins, and features pure cocoa powder and coconut milk powder with omega-3 from linseed. The Vanilla Flavored Protein Powder provides 34.9 grams of plant protein per serving and is designed for smoothies, oats, baking and everyday nutrition routines. The Salted Caramel Flavored Protein Powder also offers 34.9 grams of plant protein per serving, combining caramel sweetness with balanced salted notes. All three products are made with Australian-grown pea and faba proteins, include omega-3 from linseed, and contain no artificial colours, flavours or fillers.

"Taste and convenience are just as important as the nutritional profile," Chawla added. "Our goal is to create products that people genuinely enjoy incorporating into their routines. We want plant-based nutrition to feel accessible and practical, not complicated or restrictive."

Manufactured in Victoria, Australia, Green Choice Proteins emphasizes ingredient transparency, responsible sourcing and clean-label formulations. The family-owned company uses Australian-grown pulses as a foundation while incorporating other selected ingredients. This focus on transparency and clean labels could appeal to U.S. consumers who are increasingly reading ingredient lists and seeking products that align with their health values.

The company's U.S. expansion follows its participation in September's ECRM Vitamin, Weight Management & Sports Nutrition Session in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Green Choice Proteins is preparing to introduce its products to American consumers through OneLavi and Amazon, representing the initial stages of a broader strategy to establish its Australian-made plant nutrition products in the United States.

For the plant-based sector, Green Choice Proteins' entry into the U.S. market underscores a key implication: growth may increasingly come from products that fit into everyday eating occasions rather than from direct replacements for animal-based foods. If successful, the company's approach could encourage more brands to prioritize protein content, flavor and convenience alongside sustainability and clean ingredients. As consumers continue to seek practical ways to add plant-based nutrition to their diets, the U.S. launch will test whether Australian-made, clean-label plant proteins can stand out in an increasingly competitive market.
