Award-winning author Gina Iafrate has announced that the ebook version of her award-winning romantic fiction novel, The English Professor, will be available at no charge on October 19 and 20, 2026. The free promotion, accessible through Iafrate's Amazon author page, is significant because it removes cost barriers for new readers and introduces a sweeping family saga that spans continents and generations.
The English Professor follows Andrew Robertson, an introverted, middle-aged professor who leaves his unremarkable London life for Sicily. There, he develops a burning infatuation for another man's wife, Francesca. Their union results in a child, but Andrew must return to London while Francesca protects herself and their child from her violent husband. The novel is the first in a series that continues with The Professor's Daughter and Love and Betrayal, tracing the life of Gracy Robertson as she navigates love, loss, and threats from corrupt mobsters.
The free offer matters because it provides an accessible entry point to Iafrate's Strong Women series, which features characters who overcome staggering odds to build lives that serve as models for women everywhere. The series also includes The Girl From The Cornfield, Bestowed By Love And Splendour, and the anthology Releases From My Soul. Iafrate, who is bilingual and writes in both Italian and English, is a 2016 Book Excellence Award Finalist and has been featured in publications such as Niagara News, Phoenix Magazine, and The Horizon. Her works have been exhibited at The Pier 21 Museum in Halifax.
By making The English Professor free for two days, Iafrate and her publisher are likely aiming to attract new readers to a backlist that emphasizes rich, tactile descriptions of exotic locales and intricately formed characters. The promotion also highlights the growing trend of authors using limited-time free offers to build readership in a competitive digital marketplace. Readers who download the free ebook may find themselves drawn into a multi-book saga that explores the richness of the human experience through finely drawn characters. More information about Iafrate and her books is available at her website.
The announcement comes as Iafrate works on her seventh novel, The Shoeless Boy, suggesting that the free promotion may also serve to build anticipation for future releases. For fans of romantic fiction and family sagas, the two-day giveaway represents a chance to discover a series that has been compared to the works of Nicholas Sparks and John Grisham. The free ebook will be available only on October 19 and 20, 2026, making the timing of the offer critical for interested readers.
