FleetCollect Launches $60 On-Demand DOT Drug Tests and $8/Month Random-Testing Consortium Nationwide

FleetCollect, a trucking-compliance software platform, now lets owner-operators and small fleets in all 50 U.S. states order DOT drug and alcohol tests on demand for $60 per test and enroll in a nationwide FMCSA random-testing consortium for $8 per driver a month. Both services run through a single FleetCollect account, with specimen collection at a national network of more than 19,000 collection sites, analysis by SAMHSA-certified laboratories, and Medical Review Officer (MRO) review included.

For most small carriers, DOT testing is a fragmented purchase. Ordering one pre-employment test means calling around for a collection site, arranging a lab, and finding an MRO separately; joining a random-testing pool means comparing consortium administrators whose pricing and selection practices are rarely published. Under 49 CFR Part 382, CDL drivers operating commercial motor vehicles must participate in a DOT drug and alcohol testing program, and owner-operators who drive their own trucks must join a consortium for random testing. FleetCollect's launch addresses both situations — the carrier that needs one test today, and the carrier that needs a standing random pool — without forcing the first group into a membership it does not need.

Order a single DOT drug test for $60, no program required. A carrier can order a pre-employment, post-accident, or other one-off DOT test directly through FleetCollect for $60 per test. FleetCollect schedules the collection at a nearby site in a national laboratory collection network, routes the specimen for laboratory analysis, and delivers the MRO-verified result. There is no enrollment, subscription, or consortium membership required to order a test.

Join a nationwide random-testing consortium from $8 a month. For carriers subject to ongoing random-testing requirements, FleetCollect operates a DOT drug and alcohol testing consortium — a pooled random-testing program priced at $8 per driver a month for a single-truck operator, or $80 per driver a year, with per-driver pricing dropping to as low as $2 a month for larger fleets — in which enrolled drivers are selected for unannounced testing at the FMCSA minimum annual rates of 50 percent for drugs and 10 percent for alcohol. When a driver is selected, FleetCollect texts them a pass to a nearby collection site, notifies the carrier, and documents completion for audit purposes.

Collection, laboratory, and MRO review handled end to end. Both offerings draw on a national network of more than 19,000 collection sites and SAMHSA-certified laboratories, with every result reviewed by a Medical Review Officer before it is reported. Consortium members also receive Designated Employer Representative (DER) sign-off support, so required employer actions are documented rather than left to the carrier to improvise.

FMCSA Clearinghouse queries included. FleetCollect is registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse as a C/TPA, and the consortium includes FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse queries — the pre-employment and annual checks carriers must run on CDL drivers.

Available nationwide. Both on-demand testing and the consortium are available to owner-operators and small fleets across all 50 U.S. states, using collection sites in the national laboratory network.

"Most owner-operators don't wake up wanting a consortium — they wake up needing a test," said Herman Armstrong, founder of FleetCollect. "So we built testing the way a small carrier actually buys it: order the single test you need today, and if you're required to be in a random pool, the consortium is right there on the same account. Either way, collection, lab, and MRO review are handled."

"Random-testing programs have been a black box for small fleets," Armstrong added. "We put the selection rates, the process, and the price on the page — $8 a month, $60 a test."

On-demand DOT testing at $60 per test and consortium enrollment from $8 per driver a month (or $80 per driver a year) are available now. The testing products join FleetCollect's existing compliance tools — IFTA fuel tax tracking via its iPhone app and DOT Driver Qualification File (DQF) management under 49 CFR Part 391.
