The Monster Girl Evolution series, which garnered over 3 million views on DeviantArt and Royal Road and debuted as a #1 New Release on Amazon, has released its final installment. Author Brian Heming published Monster Girl Evolution: Tournament of the Smart on June 11, concluding the trilogy that blends AI-generated content with human creativity.
Unlike many AI-generated books that simply copy and paste ChatGPT outputs, Heming employs a more nuanced methodology. “I use only local models running on my laptop, and carefully tune to get the style I envision,” he said. “I combine language models with traditional writing, plotting, and editing for my writing, and combine data pipelines and image models with traditional digital painting techniques for my illustrations.” This hybrid approach has resonated with audiences, as evidenced by the series’ success.
The series draws inspiration from anime and video games, following protagonist Amy and her friends as they level up and gain powers through battles and quests. In the final book, Tournament of the Smart, they enter a futuristic fighting tournament that will determine the fate of the world. The book is available in eBook, paperback, and audiobook formats on Amazon and Audible.
Heming, author of over a dozen books blending classic pulp fiction with modern influences, marks the Monster Girl Evolution series as his first novels to feature AI writing. The release underscores a growing trend where AI is used as a tool to enhance, rather than replace, human artistic vision.
