The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) concluded its Fashion Hong Kong promotion in Paris on June 28, the final day of Paris Men's Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027. Held in collaboration with strategic partner Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), the week-long campaign featured a professional showroom at Rue de la Paix, a networking reception, and a designer dinner, aiming to bolster Hong Kong's fashion scene on the global stage and facilitate business opportunities for local brands.
The showroom presented Spring/Summer 2027 collections from Hong Kong designer brands, including apparel and accessories. It attracted buyers, media, and industry professionals from Europe and beyond, enabling business matching and partnership discussions. Notably, designers MARCCH and Matter Matters showcased pieces co-created with Paris-based artist Yaz Bukey, highlighting creative exchange between Hong Kong and France.
A networking reception on June 27 drew over 200 fashion professionals, buyers, and media representatives, providing Hong Kong designers with valuable networking opportunities. A subsequent "Hong Kong Fashion Night dinner" further strengthened connections with the global fashion community, laying groundwork for overseas expansion.
This promotion marked the first cross-sector collaboration between HKTDC and Hactl. Hactl, recognized for its sustainability and innovation leadership, contributed expertise in air cargo logistics and sustainable practices. The partnership combines Hactl's logistics strengths with HKTDC's global network to support Hong Kong brands in expanding internationally while addressing global sustainability trends.
Mr. Chris Lo, Regional Director for Europe, Central Asia & Israel at HKTDC, said: "This collaboration reflects Hong Kong’s unique strengths in combining creativity with connectivity. By partnering with Hactl, we are not only showcasing our designers’ talent but also demonstrating how Hong Kong’s logistics excellence and sustainability leadership can support the global fashion industry in new and meaningful ways."
Mr. Frosti Lau, Chief Executive of Hactl, said: "Fashion is global, fast-moving, and increasingly driven by sustainability. Our collaboration with the HKTDC at Paris Fashion Week highlights how air cargo supports the fashion industry, celebrates the innovation and creativity of Hong Kong designers, as well as promotes sustainability in both the fashion and air cargo industries."
Launched in 2015, Fashion Hong Kong has promoted Hong Kong designers at major fashion events in New York, London, Paris, Copenhagen, Tokyo, Seoul, and Shanghai. More information is available at Fashion Hong Kong and on Instagram @hktdcfashionhk.
